This is impressive, but most people don’t know that in Japan, high school clubs almost never have adult supervision. It’s the older students that teach the younger ones, and choose their music, uniforms, and performances.

However, it's not as strict as in the olden days where children are forced to do whatever their parents asked to do. Even til this day there r still parents out there doing so. I'm Asian and I have Asian friends that have to be excel in educations. I do ask them if they r stress from the standard they need to achieve, but most of the like "nahhh." and said since in return they get to go out with friends free from the "tiger parents". Everything about Kyoto Tachibana's High School Marching Band is hands down brilliant and wonderful because even with the pitch perfect music, you can see they are all having fun doing it. Music is meant to be about having fun! Also they partially remind me of that movie "Swing Girls" (an amazing comedy movie from Japan).
They are dangerous. I stumbled upon them a few days ago, and have been watching them for hours upon hours when I should have been doing other things. How is it even possible to dance and hit the glockenspiel keys, or wave your flute and still keep on playing? Not only must they practice some 25 hours a day, but ultimately as well prepare for university... Out of this world.

Your premise isn’t that far off from Hibike!Euphonium actually! Oumae kumiko wanted to have a fresh start for her high school years after a band tournament in middle school, where she said something kinda mean to a fellow clubmate and now wants to forget all about it. But through many circumstances she somehow got into the band again and played the exact same instrument she played the year before. And now she, the girl she said something mean to, and a bunch of friends old and new plays their way into nationals when their newest teacher tries to bring Kitauji’s (admittedly awful) band to play together for a national tournament. It’s like my 2nd most fav anime of all time. You should totally watch it!!!
