As I said, I don’t think most of his supporters are evil as they are being painted as, but they just don’t seem to care about any of his repulsive positions, and everyone knows why, this is just an anti-left wing, anti PT hate boner, and a pretty insistent one. And unfortunately, there’s the other portion of his supporters, a portion of middle class Brazilians who think they are European, superior to the rest of the country and shamelessly share Bozonaro’s positions, for this people, it isn’t just a hate boner, they share the worst traits of Trump supporters, they get pleasure on seeing liberal ideas being shattered, the same old “liberal tears are delicious”, they, just as Trump supporters, started to defend nazis, spread fake news about social policies and its beneficiaries, openly chastising them, a portion of supporters who, despite of already having access to firearms, want to make open carrying it legal, they have vigilante fantasies of stopping crime, just like the 2nd amendment supporters in the US, but we all know it isn’t about crime, it’s a small penis thing, but here in Brasil, they want to be able to harass people who think differently, they want to be able the harass other people in pety discussions, they want to impose themselves, they don’t care about safety, they are already safe compared to the general population, who don’t have the same wealth to live in closed communities and obtain private protection, this portion of his supporters, support him because they know, no matter how bad things go, they are going to be unaffected by his policies. And since I talked about Trump, I wish the comparisons between the two would stop, this only empowers Bozonaro’s supporters, they are flattered by this comparison, but can’t seem to notice the big difference between the two… before explicitly getting involved in politics, Trump was the figure in the shadows, buying politicians, paying interest groups to formulate legislature with dubious language just to avoid paying taxes, Trump doesn’t give a fuck about social policies, he couldn’t give less of a fuck, nowadays he seems to “care” because it’s the party speaking for him, Trump isn’t religious, he isn’t really conservative, he’s just a wall street cliché, a bad one, but Bozonaro, oh, he is conservative, he is religious, the worst kind of religious, he is evangelical, has a boner for military dictatorships, especially the one that destroyed Brasil 33 years ago, spent 30 years of his life as a political dead weight, munching on political benefits, and unlike Trump, he doesn’t even try to justify the absurd things he says (he has the right to say whatever the fuck he wants to say, no matter how offensive, but people are confusing defending his right to say what he wants, with defending the things he say), people can’t seem to notice, that just like Trump, he’s just a party’s puppet, they know nothing about the job of a president, they are preying on their electorate’s fears, they both have a boner for authoritarian regimes, they are just being used by their parties and associates to cut taxes for the rich, and when the situation get unsustainable, the parties will try as hard as they can to disassociate their images from these two… “it was them, not the party”.
