James continues the series with a tutorial on how to join dissimilar metals, this time copper to stainless steel using our SilverBraze 55T silver brazing rods and flux powder to get the job done. James shows how to clean and prepare the metals for brazing, how to braze the joint and demonstrates the strength of the join.

I need some advice, how would you suggest someone silver braze a stainless steel ferrule on to a stainless steel keg? I'm trying to do what is shown in the video posted on the goodwelds channel "Tig welding 304 stainless 4" tri clamp fitting in ABS brewing fermenter". I'm not a tig welder, but I have brazed before. I'm thinking about cutting the hole so the ferrule doesn't fall through, but rests on a lip. Would it be better to braze it on the inside out or from the outside in? How would you do it? Thanks for any suggestions. Cheers.

5 months and no reply, imagine a company putting out a video and ignoring peoples comments, no way to do business. Did you get this ferrule welded or brazed yet? My thoughts concerning brazing is how will you hold it in place? Heating this up to temp the flux will allow parts to move around. Also with stainless, especially a thin wall keg can overheat fast and if the flux overheats the filler won't flow, I would TIG it, but then that's what I do. Best regards

@@precisionarc I did silver braze it successfully following the instructions of Planet Moonshine's "Converting a beer keg into a home distillation boiler" though I agree tig is the best way to do it.
