its actually to keep normies and shit out, sometimes cops or others depending on the criteria. Plus you can log visitors and can get better metric. ANYONE can get the onion link, and it does work even though many of the accounts are YT'ers and pen test guys. Theres a reason private trackers for torrents force you to be a member to get the links to the torrents. Since criminals loves to dox each other too thats a plus as well, it ties you in to an identity.

The funny part about the BF re-takeover is the message to the registrar, knowing the FBI and all the other alphabet agencies have no jurisdiction in Hong Kong. I guess NiceNic realized this and that the authorities hadn't partnered up with the Hong Kong Police so couldn't do diddly squat, so returned the domains back. This is just an opinion but it has happened before with other services and countries.

When people or groups with these cyber skill sets are "taken down" by federal agencies they are not arrested. These people are recognized for the skill sets in a time of cyberwarfare and are placed under new management with all the benefits and qualified immunity. One thing that frustrates me about hackers is: Are they only getting user and customer data? Or are they also get company data about internal operations, financials etc etc? And if they are getting internal op info; are they releasing it? I never hear about it in main stream news.... And it stands to reason that they would be getting ALL data. And if they are, why are they not using it to help take down corrupt companies? ... or are they?
