Learn some perspective fundamentals in the drawing basics course - proko.com/drawing
@PeterHanStyle experiments with distorting a classic car sketch to make it more captivating. By disregarding realism, he can inject more action, story, and energy into the drawing. By learning his approach, you'll be able to create dynamic, engaging sketches that demand attention.

The word "feel" came to mind listening to his description of his work process. It's not so much copying the model exactly as it appears, but depicting the artist's feeling, while drawing the subject. At one point, he discusses working with those who are "like minded" and that you absorb bits of their creativity in your own work. I've found working in a studio, with other artists, is the best springboard for learning and inspiration.

Why do you draw slow? Its because you are unfamiliar and you are learning. I love this take from Peter. Speed comes with practice. Be kind to yourself when you are learning.

I'm really thinking about buying that drawing course of yours! Regarding the video. I think it's really insightful, yet it's easy to get! World is made of shapes. Lines and curves combined together. Those shapes create patterns that repeat in many cases, like the common patterns of a car (wheels, lights, trunk, engine, chasis). No matter the age, you will see those, you only need to bend the shame shapes and add some details. Then you have a different car! And with that in mind, you can use perspective to bend the car itself and make it look more interesting in the draw. It's the first time I've heard aboit the felt tip pen. But it's something I'm going to try out. I'm very insecure with my lining and I always end up using more lines than needed, making my draws look more sketchy than clean. Building confidence with the tool you use to draw is also important. It takes time, but once you get the grasp of it, it's satisfying. Finding your style is another really important matter, and the use of inspirations over time can really get you there. I'm really keeping this video in one of my lists. And I'm looking forward to preview some of that perspective course!

I'm pursuing different subject matter, but I was so inspired by this video. One thing I want to draw is symbolic/ metaphor figures, & also angels. I see so many stiff, frontal view angels on resources like pinterest. This just reminded me/ added to my vision of visual expression, feeling, something alive, that you can feel, connect to. I was wondering what to do with my drawing effort now, as I grabbed a book of angels from the library. I'm going to mess with this action/ foreshortening/ expressiveness... while also 1st getting the logical sense. Thanks.

I just got to the point of finally being able to “use” all this knowledge I’ve been collecting from the past 3 months… the hardest part of it was not being able to “merge” it all together to get the desired results. I can’t lie… it felt like I was a “fraud” of an artist for a very long time. xD

This guy really thinks that his snow leopard looks a real one? Absolutely not, not a mile close. It looks like a 10 years old cat with a catatonic disease right before they put it down to an eternal sleep. What a shame! Snow leopard is a magnificent animal with an exquisite grace and strong spirit. The skill to draw some mediocre characters for mediocre comics doesn't make you an artist.
