Seafarers have a greeting: May you have fair winds and following seas. Means winds have filled your sail and seas are from your stern, same as good fortune and God speed. For you its "May you have long stroking rows and a gentle breeze" or you can be "Kayla and Baron". It is good for you to talk and no I am not tired of listening or sitting in the virtual buddy seat. It is amazing to watch a fluffy row of grasses get ingested and come some 20+ feet later as 21 bales of income. You appear happy and that is nice to see. Be safe and God Bless.

Talking is fine. Great you are having a good year. Last year's drought was tough here! Hope prices hold up. 73 hours in the baler this week is the real measure of your work.. Keep posting that type of info when you say you are tired. We all know the other parts of life don't stop while you are in the baler too.

You’re so busy but when do you find time to edit the videos? Thank goodness for your son filling in with the haying and all. Jason must be flying between the various jobs he’s doing, one foot barely touching the ground!

Yep!! Still have the cows. They’re pretty low maintenance during the summer months. We utilize 200+ acres for grass - rotational grazing practices for the cow calf pairs. We farm about 450 other acres for hay.

Kayla you and Jason need a day off every so often, life balance remember makes for a healthy Kayla and Jayson even if you do something with both kids together. I never learned that until covid hit I was 59 then. I do not work 6 or 7 days a week anymore. Used to do it year around. most I work is 6 days a week make sure my employees get one day off a week. We work at a major university that has home events for mmb , wbb, gymnastics meets wrestling meets, concerts, and winter commencement makes for a lot of long nights and days.

How much hay do you do
@ChroniclesofKayla
@ChroniclesofKayla 27 күн бұрын
Roughly 500 acres give or take for first cutting. - of course there’s the Alfalfa in there that we try to cut anywhere from 3-5x - - we do straw so that’s anywhere between 120 to 300 acres depending on how things go & timing. So it doesn’t seem like much until you double or multiply the acres for different cuttings.

Ehh we’re capitalizing on our smalls square market 🤪 the LSB has given us fits for years - - our MF team found us several, but right now it’s not a necessity for us to “bale” - we’re making do with the 1842S putting up squares is the endgame in our market.
