I actually did this after beating on it with a hammer and tire tool for 20 minutes. I went to the old You Tube stand by and saw this. It worked like a charm the first time. Getting the board centered correctly is important. Can't wait till a friend or relative gets in a tight spot with a wheel and tire. I'll be the hero.

I used your jack/trailer hitch trick on my mower tire this morning. Worked like a charm!! 👍

Wow this worked like a charm. Took me a couple tries as my setup was a little different but after a couple attempts it broke the bead no problem

Great video. Went with jack between tire and hitch, jack pushed it down. For those not using a tube, If not adding a tube, spray 2-3 second burst of starter fluid around the inside of rim and light it with lighter. Poof, tire on wheel then add air.

Thanks. In hindsight, I should’ve tried your method to break the bead. Next time!

I wonder if leaving the tire on the ground and turning the scissor jack upside down with its bottom against the trailer hitch would be easier to use. Ill have to give it a shot

Lol, wish I had found this earlier!! I wrestled with my two rear lawnmower tires for about 3 hours today. My son and I finally conquered them but your idea, which is great, would have saved us at least 2.5 hours and a Goody’s powder!! 😂 Lol

They can be tough! Sometimes you have to work with what you have laying around.

Nice. Thanks for the quick demo. I have the same problem, a ZTM that keeps gettin' rear flats.

I ended up putting the jack on the tire itself because a trailer was hooked up to the hitch we’ve got 😂 got it to work though

Great idea! I tried multiple prying tools, jumping, and hitting mine with a hammer. A few string cranks under a tow hitch and it popped off. Smart solution.

Should've just placed jack on top of tire with wheel on ground and let jack press against hitch tire wouldn't flip over as easy

Just drive over the tire with your car, it works every time, only over the tire not the rim, of course remove the valve core first

I'm trying to find an easier way to break a tire down(I like this idea) but need a better way to put it back on the rim. You have any tricks?
@HilltownCT3 жыл бұрын
Soapy water and force. if you are trying to seat it on the rim, the rope method has worked pretty good for me. You’ll find videos for it on YT. Good luck and thanks.
