I had seen some videos with Vijay Prashad and he's so calm and "academic" so this is actually a pleasant surprise to see him so animated and cynical. I think based on his immense knowledge and having seen the selfishness, arrogance, and betrayal of the US in the last year have made him boil over. And he hasn't even touched on the US' problem with systemic racism, corruption to the point where they let their people and children get killed by guns for decades, lack of health care, etc. in this speech yet.

I felt more patriotic as a Communist and as a human being during this speech than during the 48 years of life I've lived in the US empire, including my military days. Not only does Comrade Vijay beautifully convey the utter mediocrity of the US government's corporate puppets, but he also mentions the need for the USA to "grow up." I"ve often said that we're the youngest nation on this planet trying to order around elder civilizations like China and India much like a rambunctious adolescent might. And that is not even cracking the iceberg of what this rambunctious adolescent of an empire has done to the most ancient land of Africa in our drive to fatten our national bank account. Now's the time to go beyond just saying that we need a revolution. Now is when we get to figure out HOW to make that revolution happen and what role we each will ultimately play. Because like you say, that USA is the youngest nation in the world they are jealous of other people's history, people who are older than them. That is why during your country's campaigns in the Middle East they went after historical monuments. First that was bombed in Afghanistan were the monuments. Aleppo in Syria, one of the most ancient cities in the world, reduced to rubble. It is no coincidence that the countries in the region were targeted, not only because of their oil but also because of their cultural significance. I come from Macedonia, another ancient civilisation, and we too have felt the "generosity" of American politics. People don't know this but my country is in the process of being ethnically genocided, a process helmed by the US and their stooges in the EU. Enough is enough, it's time for a change.

About what?? Of not giving away billions of Covid vaccines worth billions of dollars, for free to LDC's, when all so called developed nations were hoarding it for prices to skyrocket and then sell them. It is you guys who need to understand, as you would be surprised that on contrary to western predictors, India will loose the most in the world, but when you saw India fighting to save its people and people in countries other than India, Biden put a ban on the raw material required for vaccine production, on the pressure from Western Pharma giants, you received a heavy backlash and you had to remove the ban. Then during next wave US was short of hydroxychloroquine, you came to us and it was India who made sure you must get the quantity you require and then US as a society has no right to take high ground.
