Thank's Gert for that video. This is exactly how I feal about pain an uncomfortable stuff. IMHO all those things starts where your comfort zone ends, and if you put just a little effort to push this zone a little bit away, every time all gets only better. What I mean is not only holding your breath longer but also things like icebaths or other strange ideas like OCR competition (that worked as a charm for me). Outcom for me = feeling cold - not that cold, being tired - no longer exhaustion seeing world as it is not complaining too much, being calm, happy and greatfull. All those i believe are effects of having zone of comfort as far as possible. All the best for everyone!

Amazing, I'm just starting to learn to hold my breath, and I didn't know I could go much past that initial strong urge. Will try next time 😅. Maybe 4 minutes is within reach 🎉

@@gertleroy Yes, I try not to look at the stopwatch until I'm done 😄. Though I do count my heart beats as a gauge, maybe I should stop counting 🤔🤷‍♂️

In my case contractions do not hurt…doesn’t appear to be pain. And it’s certainly something that you can get used to. Absolutely a mind game

Hey Gerd...very good explanation... especially the part about pain...somehow we are able to change pain into joy. I am already able to change the pain of feeling cold into joy...just by thinking " no its not cold...it feels great" I try to improve this to the pain of contractions. Greetings from Taichung Taiwan

Another awesome video! Thanks man! Just a quick question about contractions. Is there a number, even approximate, of safe contractions? I know there are people who can go up to a 100 but not asking about max, what is in your opinion a safe but also effective number. Peace!

there is no such thing. safe means progressing in incremental steps. safe means you have a buddy. 🙏

I started one month ago to practice all this. My currrent best time is 3:27, and so far I have never felt contractions.

is there an average time where a person start to feel contraction? because as beginner I am around 2 minutes breathholding and i guess i never feel it..thanks anyway for this gold!

the more trained you are in breath holding the later they will come, and the longer you can hold your breath. As a rule of thumb they start halfway your max breathhold. If you haven't felt then yet either you're not conscious about them or you could hold your breath way longer. Relax your abdominal. muscles and hold your breath longer. Contractions will come.
