Me, for a moment. I just heard on the radio tonight that she was born on this date in 1944, and I thought it must have been an error (actually nineteen THIRTY-four or something, surely?) because I'd always assumed the voice in "Rockin' Around" was an adult's.

В моём дестве 50 лет назад мы советские ребятишки покупали жевачку с таким названием Тут фрути у цыган на Иркутской барахолке по рублю за пластик, можно было бесплатно выпросить жевачку, если бежать за автобусом Интурист по улице, но из автобуса больше выбрасввали нам под ноги Лелики болики, иногда Бубли ггугли, в школе они так же шли по рублю Но Лелики болики всё равно считались как-то ценнее чем Тути Фрути и Бубли Гугли . А несколько позже ближе к второй половине 70 х появилась таллинская жевачка Калев, но она была как кустарная, формой как ириска и не дулась, жесткая, но дешовая, на полтинник две ириски а ближе к Олимпиаде 80 года года уже пошло поехало, свободно хорошая, советская пошла ,из Москвы везли из Куйбышева, цены рухнули, обвал рынка, переоценка ценностей, да и как-то больше годам к 13 резко все уже переключились на Агдам и жта жевачка совсем как то уже была не интересна

I remember meeting Brenda on the set of the Ozark Jubilee around this time. My older sister was a dancer with the kids square dance group that were regulars on the show. I got to hang out during rehearsals and met many famous country stars. My favorite memory was sitting on Minnie Pearl's lap, sharing cookies and learning about comic timing. I was 5, haha.

Was lucky to see Brenda at a Fair way back when in Washington State. She signed autographs later after the show and she was the sweetest person! So tired, yet loyally signing autographs! One of her band people asked her if she was hungry..did she want to go to a restaurant..I think she wearily said "yes".. and signed away!!

Brenda and Lena Zavarone, if someone still remember her. They both were awesome. Unfortunately Lena died in the age of 32 from anorexia. She was just 10 years old when had had her 1st album. 😢 Thank god Brenda still alive and many people love her.😊❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Before she was even 3 years old her mother and sister would take her to a to a local candy shop, stand her on the counter, and she would sing for candy and coins. She won her school talent show and 5 and began appearing on local TV and radio programs. It's no wonder she seems so poised and confident at 11. She had already been performing for several years.

Brenda Lee was such a wonderful singer and fine to be surrounded by great talented artist and manager that helped her keep her money safe from those that would take advantage of her. including that deadbeat stepfather that married Brenda Lee's mother and later left her alone. So it became necessary for Brenda Lee to find ways to get her a house and so she did. Thanks to the Judge who Brenda Lee spoke to about helping her mother out by buying her a house. So happy her family was there for her too.

This was recorded at the studios of WLW-A Channel 11 in Atlanta, GA. The show was called "Stars Of Tomorrow" and was hosted by longtime Atlanta emcee Freddy Miller....Brenda was only 11 years old when she recorded this.....right out of Lithonia, GA....
