Bret is 100% correct. There have been numerous guys, whether they were popular or not, that became main eventers because Vince, or now Hunter wanted to be. And who they didnt, didnt.

That was Brodys presence. Dude could walk into an airport or resuraunt and automatically command respect without saying a word, and if the guys seen Brody talking to you they would do a 180 in attitude. Gosh I miss that man and the legitimacy he brought to the business and the way he never cowered to a promotor.

Brody and Heyman would not have worked well together. The promoter with the reputation of screwing guys out of their pay and the worker known for not putting up with screwy promoters. If you don't know what Bret and the rest of the Hart family means to Calgary, watch the Hart foundation vs Austin, LOD, Shamrock and Golddust 5 man tag. In my opinion it's the loudest crowd reaction in wrestling history. The best part about it, is that the Hart's were supposed to be the heels. Not in Canada. Bret represents the best of what Pro wrestling was & still should be. It is about telling a story in the ring. You do that be making your moves look as real as possible, you do it by making your opponents moves look like they a legit hurting you (selling) & psychology of the story. Hogan had one story. He would get in a ring & beat up a guy, then the hell would cheat to get an advantage, then Hogan would take everything including the hell's finsher that always took out every other wrestler, and then all of a sudden "Hulk Up" point the finger & then hit the big boot and leg drop. He was boring AF. even when I was a young kid & enjoyed watching the guys who could work well regardless if they were a heel or a babyface. Some of my favourite matches were the Bulldogs vs the Hart Foundation & I loved Jake Roberts psychology and Bret & Mr. Perfect was always a good match.

If Brody went to WWF, Vince FOR SURE would have done right by him. NO WAY Brody takes that deal IF Vince would have made him look like a fool. Brody DIDN'T need Vince to make great money. But NO DOUBT going to WWF was the ULTIMATE to make the most money. Vince had all those avenues for the boys to make money. I just don't think Brody wanted that money BAD ENOUGH to play some dumb cartoon type of gimmick. He could have stayed in Japan to finish his career. Or maybe get a huge payday from WCW if he wanted to. Vince did right by Flair, Dusty, LOD, and Tully-Arn. All of them got awesome pushes. With a legend like Brody, Vince FOR SURE puts him vs. Hogan at some point at a big PPV. Vince would have had him tone down his persona some. BUT still would allow Brody to be ENOUGH OF HIMSELF to create that bad ass aura of danger.

Brody wouldn't have had any use for Vince's carney shit. As difficult at times as Brody could be (and he was a politician backstage), he respected the business from an old school standpoint. Vince on the other hand turned it into Barnum and Bailey Circus.

Bret WAS/IS 1000 times better than Hogan,Bret has more talent, more knowledge of wrestling than Hogan would ever learn. Hogan was that "all american" boy,but was all fake,Bret was the real deal,he didn t get as high as his talent would ve taken him,and then that pos Goldberg did what he did, long live the Hitman.

Holy shit!! That’s gotta be the most outlandish comment ever!!! Congrats dumbass. Now how about laying off the hallucinogenic and psychedelic drugs you unemployed delusional junkie! Indisputable fact; wrestling wouldn’t be wrestling if it weren’t for Hogan. Okay to be honest and fair... and Flair. Both, Hogan and Flair made wrestling what it is today. Bottom line... no Hogan, no Bret. And for anyone to have the gall and audacity to say Bret is above Hogan, obviously knows fuck all about wrestling. Now, if your hold Bret above Hogan because of personal preference/opinion, than obviously that’s different. It’s fair to say we each have different opinions. But to blatantly say Bret was and or is of higher wrestling class, based on accomplishments and achievements, than Hogan, is being naive at its finest and absolutely ridiculous. Your horseshit nonsensical comment makes me worried about your mental state. It’s obvious fans are responding to a brain damaged goof. You’re dismissed retard. Thanks to your absolutely absurd pathetic comment, I have no alternative but to leave and remain gone from this comment board. That said retard, don’t bother replying.

Because hulks matches are all the same they are predictable .. predictable matches don’t have drama or tension since you know the outcome already ... putting on a match with no Atherton no drama no tension that everyone has already seen a hundred times ... that is seriously hulk hogan in a nut shell ... he is prooof the industry has nothing to do with talant ...

True to form, Bret makes it all about himself and his ego. Are we supposed to believe that Bruiser Brody just happened to walk past this one place, looked in the window, saw Bret Hart in there who was a nobody at that time and decided to go in just to shake his hand and put him over? How would Brody have seem him in Japan? If Brody was in Japan at the time wouldn't they have met and shook hands there? It's not like they had youtube to see every match ever and I doubt he would have sat down to watch a tape of some random kid he doesn't really know apart from him being a promoters kid. I think the only place this actually happened was in Bret's head. In Bret's mind he was always a big star admired by many.

Brody did live in the St. Louis area for a time and the promoter that had taken over the St. Louis territory after Munchnick retired was prormoting WWF shows in St. Louis so it's possible that Brody would have known what restaurant they were at.

First of all, someone really, really dislikes Bret Hart a bit. I don't know of who else would listen to that story and get out of it that Bret Hart was trying to put himself over. Second, it is very likely Brody would have known who Hart was on account of his dad. Third, what I got from that story was that Brody probably saw that Hart was getting shit on and took it on himself to to give the guy a break.

Moondoggie it's funny how he says Brody said " I liked your work" . I don't think wrestlers talk about their style that way. Maybe musicians.

Moondoggie I could see Brody really respecting Stu Hart. Stu was a legit hooker. I know Brody’s background was football and he wasn’t a legit hooker. He seems like someone that would look up to those guys. So to think he would take interest in Stu’s son isn’t to far fetched. There are plenty of stories of Brody being very nice, well articulated outside of the ring. Bruiser Brody was a character Frank Goodish played him. While he was notoriously difficult to work with that’s because he wanted to make sure he was compensated as best he could be. So yeah bookers probably didn’t like him and talked mad shit

His stuff is actually more reliable than most. There is an exhaustive broadcast about the Montreal Screwjob, a few hours between Dave Meltzer and Jim Cornette. As they peeled through the narrative, Dave Meltzer having first hand accounts from others who were there, and Cornette, actually being there. Found that Bret’s take on the Screwjob was the most honest. More over, contractually he was the ethical one between the two sides.
