His machtes with Carlos Colon are classics. 1992 was when Colon interfered during a match bethim Garvin and Invader which lead to Invader tuening Heel on Colon. That rivalry helped put the AWF out of business

Something that wasn't mentioned by Garvin, I remember having wrestling magazines of around the time Garvin was in WWC and he was the only wrestler that was allowed to work double duty between WWC and WWF. Everyone that worked for WWF at the time was exclusive (no Japan dates even) and Garvin was allowed to finish out his WWC dates while in the WWF. It may not seem like a big deal to younger fans. The best way to compare it would be like if a contracted UFC fighter were allowed to compete in some other promotion at the same time, going back and forth between companies, while nobody else had the privilege. Why Garvin was allowed to work in WWC and WWF at the same time isn't all that clear. I'm not sure it was because of the Gorilla Monson connection with WWC/WWF. Perhaps because Garvin was in PR and not the mainland, they let things slide? IIRC, timeline wise, it was three or four months where he worked in both companies? It's not like they kept him in dark matches, Garvin was on WWF TV at the time. I don't know why the rules were bent for Garvin, seeing that he was right at the end of his career and wasn't going to be a primary focus of the company. An interesting caveat.

Maybe it's because he did his own flying and both companies knew that he was reliable and consistent.

Story goes as far as Brody's murder, the reason the "Invader" aka "Jose Gonzales" wasn't convicted of the murder of Brody, was because Jose was this small feller & Brody was this huge feller & no one would buy/believe that Jose would've invited this huge feller into the shower for a showdown & thus that's where Jose got off/out of this murder due to self defense. Well, that's one of the versions that have been tossed about in regards to Brody's murder. Another one was, he (Brody) went to Puerto Rico because the booker owed him some money & he went to collect it & I don't think they liked it, so he was stabbed to death by the Invader. These were just a few versions that have been tossed about. Either way & regardless too which version & there's probably many more that are out there one chooses to believe, one thing I don't think anyone can argue is, no way, no how, did "Bruiser Brody" aka "Frank Goodish" deserve to be murdered. And how that sorry sack of shit Jose Gonzales got away with murder, to this day is still a mystery too me. Just saying.

@@Peopleofthesun386 No, murdering someone is more reprehensible and abhorrent than bullying. There's absolutely no justification, no moral grounds for avenging yourself against a bully by killing him.
@2021ruber
@2021ruber 5 жыл бұрын
Garvin is not justifying anything. He is just giving a potential motive for the criminal act. Harley Race and the late Nick bockwinkel also accused Brody of having being a bully that when given the opportunity would shoot at an oponent.Kevin Sullivan also confirmed what happened in the old wwwe in the match that brought the heat between Brody and Gonzales. In such match Brody brutally beat up Gonzales because the latter refused to follow the script as a jobber ( Sullivan was in the card). Certainly Brody's bullying antics does not justified his murder. At the time of the killing both Brody and Huertas were baby faces so Brody was not shooting at Huertas at the time. Moreover , the fact that Huertas brought a kitchen knife hidden in a towel shows premeditated criminal intent. Huertas is an unrepentant killer that sadly got away with murder and should have spent the rest of his life in prison. But Brody's death does not make him a saint either. He seems to have being a cruel bully.

Watts on his podcast hints that what really caused the murder was Brody liked to hold promoters ransom. ..you could kind of see Brody holding them up for money then Gonzales says Frank come to the shower I need to talk. ..Tragic really.

+THE HANNIBAL TV ..hmm interesting. ....any thoughts on the fact that since Atlas essentially turned a blind eye this is what caused the beef between Duggan and Atlas on legends house.
@TheHannibalTV
@TheHannibalTV 8 жыл бұрын
The legends house show was mostly a work from discussions we had with talent. There were a lot of people in the dressing room the night that Brody was murdered that could have done more. You'd think a popular company with pull on the island like WWC Puerto Rico could have an ambulance get there a lot faster than the at least 45 minutes it took to come. To still let the murderer wrestle later than night on the card shows how much the company cared about the stabbing incident where Brody was allegedly called into the shower room to go over the finish for his match with the booker Jose Gonzalez aka Invader.
@johngallagher72
@johngallagher72 8 жыл бұрын
+Kathleen G agreed. ..Watts on JR'S podcast hinted that Colon was letting Brody buy in to his company and maybe Brody was asking to many questions or wanting to much money either for performing or as a % of profit. Garvin letting it slip in this interview that they had just been audited which usually results adverse financial situations for a company and its ownership reveals a real motive also ..I've always thought since it happened on his watch Colon knew more than he ever really let on and seems to get a free pass.

So by Ron's logic, a shorter professional wrestler gets pushed and yelled at by a bigger scarier wrestler. The shorter wrestler is justified when he stabs and kills said bigger scarier wrestler. Oh ok now I...still don't get it. But hey lets look on the bright side ol Ronnie still made a good pay day! When all the big names with any respect were boycotting PR. Big frowny face for the IRS giving his pay day the Garvin Stomp. Poor what's his name....
