ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION
Yes, I am giving away $1,000 to the first person or team of people who can complete my Pokemon Red "Gotta use 'em all" Challenge plus an extra $600 if you complete it on console. You will have until January 1st, 2024 (12am EST) to solve, complete, and submit video proof completing this challenge. Feel free to ask below or in my Discord if you have any questions! And check out the pastebin below for a link to the rules for this challenge:

I have already personally solved and completed this challenge myself, and now I challenge you to attempt it for yourself for now $3,000+! If no one claims the bounty by January 1st, 2024 (12am EST), I will stream the challenge start to finish live to show the solution.

Wow, wasnt aware that you were the originator of the Prof. Oak challenge until now, certainly shows how difficult this puzzle will be. I havent played gen 1 before so I doubt I would be capable of doing this, but I wish everyone competing good luck!

This video made me realize that I was under the misunderstanding that it was possible to lose against the rival fight on route 22 without blacking, because of a player's guide that _incorrectly_ described the logic for how your rival evolves his Eevee in Yellow.

and you can't afford repels, so you're like Guaranteed to run into wild pkmn, too, at least in the beginning (also I have read the rules, this just seems like torture)

isn't the run over after your rival battle? also how do you get past the first gym if all you can use is like a level 2 rattata or pidgey, I'm so confused

I state in the rules the first rival battle is the only exception to your Pokemon being allow to faint and not become retired. The reason being your Pokemon is immediately healed and you don't black out for losing. This is the only battle in the game where this happens, thus justifying the exception.

Sounds like Brock will be incredibly luck based, since I think you would have to use one particular mon for it to be possible PP wise. At least getting unlimited money isn't forbidden.

like you'd have to catch a pokemon per wild battle or the run is over

This is just an assumption on my part, but I think your pokémon doesn't retire if it helps catch a wild pokémon OR runs away from one. It won't faint or gain experience, so that'll keep it unretired

Pokemon do not retire when helping to catch a wild pokemon or running away from one. Just remember that you can still only use one Pokemon per battle, and wild Pokemon count as battles for this challenge, so you can only use one Pokemon at a time to help catch a wild Pokemon.

If you truly think you can solve it but don't have enough time to complete it yourself in the next 6 months, you can always team up with someone and give them your route for them to grind it out.

Noted. Currently doing a challenge that is fairly stereotypical (18 monotype nuzlockes, one of each type) but depending on how I feel I may may not make time for it

@@BrianMp16 actually, just to clarify, we can save, but we cant savestate?

Yes, you can save in game but you cannot use savestates or backed up save files. Imagine all you have is Pokemon Red and a Gameboy. You can do whatever is within the capabilities of that following the 6 rules

It's ironic considering I did buy Pokemon Stadium 1 and 2 two years prior, as well as Hey You, Pikachu for an actual N64 console, and my sister still has working Gameboy Color devices and the original Pokemon Red cartridge. Although whether the cell save batteries are working or no longer working I've yet to see. However, I'm not interested in this challenge. Sorry, just not interested.

@@RichieL1991 I was, but he added some rules that make it seem less fun, so I don't think I will anymore

@@cudgle1633 Interesting, because the only rule that was really added was that you can't use level 100 Pokémon - but that's essentially impossible in this challenge anyway.

@@cudgle1633 Interesting, I am intrigued, because I don't believe it's possible even if it was allowed. Explain... how would you then? No glitches are allowed to get a Pokémon to level 100, or to dupe rare candies. There's not enough experience in the wild and/or trainer battles to get a Pokémon to level 100 with the limited amount of battles one would be allotted before retiring all their usable Pokémon. So that leaves the daycare route I am assuming?
