What timing, I actually tried verve for the first time yesterday when I was strolling around in Tokyo. Mind blown! The café was really beautiful the espresso was extremely well extracted and tasted like the elixir of gods. Their Honduran SL 28 was amazing as well. I don’t know how close the flavors are to the verve in the US but dayum, that was some good coffee.

1:18 "Capital One is this younger, hipper brand". This is so interesting! I've never thought of any major bank as a young* or hip brand -- especially not compared to a coffee shop (even Peet's). Do you think this is an impression shared by many young people? Anyway, great video. I'd love to see one of these cafes in person. * unless you mean "young" i.e. founded in 1994, but I don't think that contributes to anyone's impression of the brand in terms of coolness -- it's a bank

There's a capital one cafe on UES I love going to when waiting for my dog to get groomed. Actually a good cafe with many outlets and seats

Yep they serve single origin hand pours and all drinks are 50% off for Capital One account holders (tried asking if the discount also applies to coffee gear/beans but unfortunately not).

Oh wow that sounds amazing! The one near me has some single origins on batch, most recently Worka and I was quite impressed as its located in a mall. Their espresso based drinks taste nearly identical to actual Verve cafes.

I love what their team is doing and how receptive they are to feedback. They just picked up a small Loring for their upcoming reserve lot roasts. I am going to be making a bunch of videos with them soon!

That’s interesting- but for a company that markets a lot about small businesses, verve is a big company to focus, why not work with some small coffee companies.
