Got a new place with hardwood floors so sweeping and mopping regularly has had me considering something like this. Almost forgot about this brand after you talked about them last time. Might have to look into these or even an older model now that this one is out.

Thanks for the video - does the self emptying system detect when the vacuum bin is full itself or does it go on with its cycle and just empty it at the end?

It empties when it needs too but for me it only empties once it's done, or when it goes back to recharge in between cleaning the house.

@@briantong thankyou for replying 😀 I currently have the s5 (which has been great) and I usually pause and empty that mid cycle as the bin fills up...was wondering if the s8+ will do that itself if there's no one home

Thanks Brian, you really explained all the features very well. I checked already 4 comparison videos and this was the best. Do you have any idea when the Roborock S9 will be manufactured? It will be a good time to buy the S8 pro ultra for cheaper price.

I don't like the dust bag. What if the vacuum cleaner picks up my jewelry or something that I don't want to throw out? Unless I go digging through the filter, I'd never know before throwing it out. I'll stick with my S7 plus bagless auto-empty dock and wait for a future bagless upgrade one day.

its not bagless what are you talking about? unless you mean you don't have a self-empty dock. other brands have bagless self-empty. roborock is behind times

Why are tech bloggers ignoring the normal s8? Its obvious roborock is getting greedy and doesnt wanna let us upgrade separately later, the influencers should cover the normal model aswell. 1000 dollar is heck alot of money for something that could loose performance within a year. Yes thats normal with robot vaccuns.

Yeah he was talking about the 8+, not the ultra, which right now is $800 USD. So that Prime Day price is regular price on Amazon right now. Not sure what that is in dollarydoos. @@mariaflies

The dirty water is from cleaning the mop after it's used. So there is no dirty water stored anywhere in the robot vaccuum

i have an s7maxV ultra and if i upgrade i would never buy another ultra. the mop washing and filling is a waste IMO. it's faster and easier to fill the onboard water tank at the sink and swap out pads throw in washing machine. save $500. S8pro ultra you cannot remove the water tank to manually fill nor is the mopping plate is removable. yeah never used the camera.

I think I'll stick with my now tarded (despite multiple factory resets now) OZMO T8 AIVI that has shit the bed completely over 3 years now until the S10 comes with the twin sweepers. I'd rather not have a tank of black/grey water sitting for weeks and clean my T8 pads immediately, wtf is this rinse them and dry them? Pass.

The S8+ has a larger dustbin, but the S8 Pro Ultra has stronger suction power.

Both of these statements aren’t true. The base s8 has the larger dustbin. The s8 plus and ultra have the same dustbin. All three have the same suction power. Please don’t mis inform people.
