I would love a “humanoid” robot. I’ll make it clean my whole house, turn lights on/off, and make it to random things while I’m traveling to make it look like someone is home.

I think they should lean more into integrated home entertainment and automation that brings together devices like the vision, macbook, airplay, 3d camera capabilities, facetime, and home pod. Perhaps a console that replaces your tv with a laser projector with hologram top and integrated virtual surround sound speakers. It could a dock a little optional robot or dog inside for those who want one.

Where robots could really be useful is for assisting disabled people. Even if they still need a human assistant, a robot could take on tasks to give them greater independence & do functions like heavy lifting that would risk injury to a human.

Absolutely, but is Apple trying to be/make an Assistive Care product company. That doesn't seem to be their identity at all at the moment, but they do have a connection to Health Tech with their Apple Watch. It just feels like that angle would be a HUGE JUMP.

It surprises me that no one has started to create a robot that can help old and disabled people, i.e. a kind of robot nurse. Here in the West (but also other parts of the world), the birth rate of older people is increasing dramatically. There will not be enough younger people to care for the elderly. I myself hope that Honda starts producing robot nurses. I love my machines from Honda; motorcycle, snowblower, scooter and lawnmower. 🙂

Really sad that nobody ist seeing it. The capture button, of course will capture pictures but I assume it will also be a big part of apples new ai offensive. If you stand in front of an object, hold the button and ask what is this and you capture this thing and get the answer

In every interview where they asked Tim Cook to comment on the car project he always mentioned that it was about a variety of autonomous products, not just cars. They probably have a fair amount of experience because of the recycling robots. The first one was in production starting in 2016.

Tesla doesn't have a customer base with active users of 1.4 billion. They would be the ones trying to catch up.

While Apple's large user base is certainly an advantage in terms of potential customers, it doesn't directly translate to an advantage in AI development. Tesla, on the other hand, has a significant head start in this area due to its large fleet of vehicles on the road, which are constantly collecting data and feeding it back to Tesla's AI systems. This real-world data is invaluable for training and improving the AI models that control the vehicles. Additionally, Tesla has been actively developing and refining its Autopilot and Full Self-Driving (FSD) technology for several years, which gives it a significant lead in terms of experience and expertise in this area. Apple would need to invest heavily in data collection and AI development to catch up, and even then, it would be a challenging task. Your overestimating the impact of Apple's user base on its ability to develop AI for robotics. Your wrong about Tesla being the one to catch up lol. Sorry its just facts. I work in the industry.

Xiaomi did a great car .. way beyond Tesla but build quality is still to be seen and Apple competing with Tesla’s Optimus prime??? Well I don’t want any cyclon evolution later lol Headset: 1000 cheaper. 20% lighter Battery 3+ years Services : concerts sports beyond nba and pga. University classes. Drug design. Gene editing. Etc. museums Travel venues real time When these APIs are available then.. then. Vision Pro will sky rocket iOS 18: try to emulate Groq. Using LPUs with LLMS. Siri could be conversational then :)
