It was kind of stupid for Cuddy to make Foreman his boss. Should've taken someone from outside his team, someone he hadn't already "broken". That being said, the mandate was for another doctor to supervise his practice, so I'm confused as to why Cuddy didn't count (she's a doctor, and already supervises his practice).

I love the small smile that started to appear on House's face there at the end, when he realized it'd be Foreman that would be supervising him. I'm not sure if it was the fact that he respected Foreman or if he figured he knew how to manipulate Foreman, but either way, I think he felt that his punishment was going to be a bit easier to bear in those circumstances.

Something I thought that was cool about this episode was when Chase realized that the woman got a bad kidney, he was willing to go to Mexico with the brother to find a black market kidney, it really speaks volumes about his character.

The whole episode is like that. All kinds of trippy transitions and "Groundhog Day"-type replays, with Chase and House each telling the same story his own way. (At one point Stacy says to Chase, "Don't care about the Vicodin," and the Vicodin bottle disappears with an audible pop.) "The Mistake" was a fantastic episode.

FUN FACT: In Greece such bribes are not only extremely common, the greatest majority of doctors ask and take such envelopes, but it's almost.. obligatory for the patients to give them even if not asked to do so. It's implied.

Stacy and House was SO MUCH BETTER than Cuddy and House. Stacy and House had great romantic and emotional chemistry. Stacy was one of, if not the only person to be able to consistently match House's attitude. She understood him on such a fundamental level that their conversations end up having so much underlying depth. There's a history there of love and understanding as well as distrust and betrayal. They didn't need to go into detail on their relationship for the viewer to immediately see the ease with which they interact and the underlying intimacy they share with each other. She was the woman for House, always was. Cuddy and House has good chemistry in an adversarial way. They are good at being frenemies, constantly at odds with each other with a fluctuating power dynamic yet also have clearly known each other long enough to consider each other good friends. Some sexual chemistry? Maybe. Romantic? Not in the least, I felt uncomfortable throughout their entire relationship "arc". I never bought it for a second. With Stacy though, they didn't even have to get together for me to immediately buy it.

It seems unethical to not preform a surgery because it's likely the patient will die and will lower their percentage. I can understand if she is guaranteed to die on the table, but this wasn't the case.

the thing is nothing is guaranteed in medicine. so if it doesn't worth it, you don't waste resources for it, and also you don't waste the patient's last moments in surgery room.

I sorta get his point though. Regardless of the money, regardless of his ethical viewpoints, if someone died on the table, regardless of how bad of a shape they were, that impacts his statistics the same way and if that keeps going down he loses his license. If he loses his license because of one bad patient, how many "decent" patients wont have a transplant because they don't have a doctor to do it?

@@Wave_Boi we should change or get rid the system. The statics are flawed if they only accept the patients with a high chance of recovery. I understand it was originally made so it would incentive doctors to preform better on their surgeries, but when people are dying because of this, we have to change it

I think you are all missing the point. He wasn't worried about his record. House himself said he was the worse surgeon they had. He was worried that he would get sued. The fact is even though it wasn't his fault he could still get sued and end up having to settle because that is cheaper than going to court.

I have no idea why foreman was happy about the position. I HATED foreman's character for how power hungry and unqualified he was at that time. Acting as chase's superior especially pissed me off since chase was factually the better doctor with the bigger record and cared more about working for house than foreman ever did.

Man I forgot how amazing House and Stacy were. She was the one person who fully understood House and was able to match his energy. Even when she decided for House to have the surgery that led to them breaking up, she was doing exactly what House would have done himself. He himself admits how wrong he was later, which is something House never does. It was never the same with Cuddy, she never did manage to civilize House the way Stacy did from the word go.

Blackmail like that doesn't really have an expiration date. Why throw it away just to be spiteful when ya might need a transplant surgeon again! Only thing that nulls it is if he and his wife split or he tells her himself. What a bad move.

How can an employee be made his own boss's supervisor in real life? That too for a month, goes without saying if he insubordinates his decision playing the supervisor card, he'll be fired a month later. Beyond all logic.

Have you heard the expression "follows the letter of the law, but not the spirit"? Cuddy just wants to technically comply with the decision so it can't be used against her in the future. She has no interest in actually supervising House, let alone deal with the mess that would ensue if she brought another, senior, doctor into his office. Managers do stuff like this all the time. Yes, this puts Foreman in a terrible position, but that's what underlings are for.
