Hi Jordan. Just thought as a mother of four, and Granny of 3 that I would offer you this tip. Although Millie and Ben are not quite ready for Lego Duplo, buy them good, used Duplo bricks. By the time they are ready you'll have a lovely lot of bricks which are well worn and snap together and apart more easily than new Duplo. They'll learn quickly. Hope this helps.

Please please don't worry about colours. there are no girly or boyish colours. there are just colours and the only reason boys or girls think differently about colours is because they are taught to by their parents. please don't force your kids to split their world in half by thinking they shouldn't like or play with the other half

Mega blocks are perfect gateway when they are babies. My son started with the same blocks and now works at Lego store.

They are two very lucky kids to have a mum and dad like you two.

My kiddos did better with regular Duplo 2x2’s versus the jumbo megabloks. The themed or specialized duplo sets have lots of small specialized parts so they aren’t great for tiny kiddos but I definitely recommend like a classic type duplo box instead! Also they both preferred the duplo figs over no figs at all (they just didn’t play with the megabloks). Let us know how it goes though!

LEGO needs competition, or they need to sell LEGO by weight, in the U.S. and Canada, like they do in their factory outlets in Europe. Don't feel bad about betraying LEGO, they're not going broke any time soon. Those bigger blocks do look pretty cool for kids their age, and you can always get 'em LEGO when they're older.

We have that Mega Blok train since a couple of years. My 2 yo, my 4 yo and sometimes my 8 yo play with it a lot, they try to build a mega train with parts from other set of that size. I think at about 3 yo is easier to play with Duplo. My 4yo, 8 yo and 10 yo play right now with regular lego bricks and they love it. My 2 oldest loves the speed champion sets. For your snow groomer, if you can't fit a figure inside, maybe you can build and fit a lego brick cockpit onto that groomer.

That is not a betrayal to Lego, Lol. Mega Blocks is the way to go for small kids. My 3 kids all started with Mega Blocks. When they can start more fine motor skills then move them up to the Duplo line.

We have a similar bag of Mega Blocks at home and they do the trick very well for little children. Although my children have gotten to an age were the youngest can build Duplo and the oldest can build regular Lego (My six year old even loves to help me built the adult sets), they still love to go back to the Mega Blocks once in a while. Just a heads up: We've had this bag for several years now and the blocks aren still in very good shape, but the handle of the bag is not of the strongest type and already came lose en tore in several pieces.

We felt the same way about the Shark Ship (if we're going to buy any Dreamzzz, it'd be that one), and it was INSANE. So cool. It stands out on our shelves, but that's a good thing in our opinion.

The magnet locks for the Hubbard's are better. Easy to install. So much fun at the Lego isle.

For little kids, using big mega blocks is a great way to start The twins playing with Lego 👍

the dreamzzz minis and half sized creatures are the best of the year IMO. The sets are fun, and the show was unexpectedly not bad. Have been watching it with my 7yo and together we've been building the dreamzzz sets. Crazy enough to be loads of fun. Also I felt the same ick with the megablox, but for the price you cant go wrong! the kids will have heaps of time to play with duplo/lego, you haven't turned to the dark side, lol!

Lego age recommendations on the boxes are very accurate. Bigger pieces cause they put things in their mouth. 4+ smaller parts cause kids don’t put things in mouth…as much. My 6yr granddaughter still likes to take apart lego and not so much into putting sets together..does her own thing. Long road ahead.

Lego did a Primo range for younger ones, im not really sure why it didnt take off. HOWEVER the did do a ride on toy 'Amy Elephant'. Its fairly rare but would be perfect fot them. Duplo also did a 'Block O Dile' which again would be perfect for them. Check them out

Don’t invest in Duplo, you’ll be able to graduate them to regular lego at 2.5yo 😅 Jokes aside I found that storytelling is the main thing that got my kid into it (and tearing them appart) now he likes to sit with me and we build sets together

Lego did make quarto which is bigger then duplo, also you can use duplo to reduce and Lego to reduce farther for huge builds.

I was just going go say that technic snow groomer is $3 cheaper at Walmart. TRU prices things a butter higher than normal msrp. Like the speed champions are usually $1 more expensive.

You have female You Tube audience too! There are many colors available for kids to play! Don't get stuck with female or male colors! Minidolls are not as desired as minifigs...etc. Be sensitive to other Lego lovers not just the old school male lego builders!
