I remember watching this very scene as a child of 10 and afterwards asking my dad for a Tardis, and my Uncle Jeff actually built one for me in the garden - all to scale and midnight blue with the eight frosted glass windows and flashing blue light, but minus the transcendental interior of course.

The other time lords removed the Tardis's abilities to travel and the equations to fix it out of the Doctor's mind to punish him for his arrogance. So, naturally, he decided that he would tear out the console and brute force the problem and relearn whatever he no longer knew. Because how hard hard could it be?

andrew Hoard It's not likely. Inferno was a long story, and there were a lot of great cliffhangers at the end of each individual episode. What I'm trying to say is the story was more suited to the classic format, it may not translate as well here. It would also be hard to replicate evil UNIT.

Though this was the last appearance of Caroline John as Liz Shaw on Doctor Who until The Five Doctors, the character didn't leave UNIT until sometime later, between Inferno & Terror of The Autons. The character also appeared in the special Dimensions In Time, celebrating the 30th anniversary of Doctor Who.

Without a shadow of a doubt, the best of the incarnations. The third Doctor is ‘my’ doctor. Jon Pertwee brought style, action, excitement and a ‘mother hen’ quality to the role. I miss those qualities in the show that Dr Who has become.

I always thought so too. Pertwee brought a credibility and severity that made you believe in the character. There was a lot of humor gained out of his rebellious nature clashing with government bureaucrats and the Brigadier.

I always loved this scene. This is my favorite scene in that episode. It was so great seeing the three of them in a scene together like this. It was so well done too. I feel like all three of them got a chance to really shine their acting skills here and we got a good glimpse into Who the characters were as people beyond their work faces in this good scene. I felt this scene also showed how they were more than just work colleagues, but each others' family.

The last appearance of the original Tardis console as seen in the first episode in 1963, poor thing. Shame the inner workings of the time rotor are shattered and wobble about the place. I heard that the rotor was moved up and down by a stage hand, can anyone confirm this? The prop fascinates me, shame it was rather battered by this point.

The rotor was moved by some kind of engine I believe as you can see Hartnell use some switch under the console to make it work in An Adventure In Space And Time. I agree it was the best console prop.

The Brig has seen the TARDIS outter shell and he's now seen the size of the TARDIS console, and despite this he's surprised in the 3 Doctors when he finds out it bigger on the inside. As if that console could fit in a police box and have the Doctor still operate it. :P

It is incredibly overacted to cover for these flaws. New Who is kind of a campy kids show about fighting monsters. Classic Who gives you something to think about.

When the Doctor got accidentally travelled into a parallel Earth where Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart's counterpart ruled England with an iron fist, The Doctor's car, A yellow roadster, somehow was transported with him there. Good that his car didn't transport off Earth again by the TARDIS console or it would've been in the rubbish tip with the Doctor and it would've had to be cleaned up thoroughly to get rid of the bad smell.

I'd imagine he just moved it out of the TARDIS. Afterall, the actual room of the TARDIS is just a container for the TARDIS console, which can be moved freely and is an entirely in-dependable component. Until the more recent incarnations of the TARDIS that is, where everything seems to be more connected together.

The 2nd Doctor,Patrick Troughton, was enjoyable to watch too,as was the 7th Doctor, of the 7 ORINGINAL Doctors before the made for TV 8th Doctor and the new series started back up, the 2nd,3rd, and 7th Doctor had the comedy clownish charistics, whereas the 5th Doctor (Peter Davidson) was not only the youngest at the time from the oringinal series, but he also had the most endearing childish curiosity to get into everything. David Tennent brought back all 3 of the 2nd,3rd & 7th Doctors funny bits
