It's sad how slow 4 strokes have become over the years. In 2000 we had briggs flat heads turn 9150 rpm and reaching speeds over 95 mph. Now days everyone says they're fast if they can reach 60. My Star engine running bad hit 86 mph. Thank you posting the video. Just from it looking like your running around 50 mph. I'm guessing by your rear gear you run short track.

how often did the flat heads need to be rebuilt running that hot? :D

@@charlesdu9941 around 20 hours. Normally we did a tear down every three months for inspections and to adjust the valves.

@@chrissoutdooradventures751 that's actually better than I thought. Not too much more maintenance than a lo206. I'm happy that lo206 became the new norm just because it's so easy on the wallet. But man I wish there's like a lo206+ league. Something with just a bit more power :P

this one is geared for 60mph/100kmh but they can also accelerate quicker and go slower or go faster and accelerate slower
