Ireland is a rugged land of pouring rain and piercing winds, and no time more so than during the cold winter months of Samhain. Luckily no matter how bleak things seem during those dark times, the light always returns to rejuvenate the land in Spring. Our ancestors gave the name 'Imbolc' to this time of rebirth, believing that the one responsible for breathing life back into the frozen lands was the Triple Goddess Brigid. Now known more often as St. Brigid, this is her original story. It is set in a time long past, when Brigid and her kin in the mythical Tuatha Dé Danann first set foot on the shores of Ireland...

Is Brigid not Danu?
@theramblingseanchai
@theramblingseanchai 13 күн бұрын
@@user-bo3vn6dd5z From my understanding of it all the Tuatha Dé Dannan are all followers or descendants of the goddess Danu, as their name seems to translate to "people of the goddess Danu." Brigid is often described as being the daughter of The Dagda, who is one of the Tuatha Dé Dannan, thus making Brigid one of them too but not necessarily Danu herself. But then again, there are so many different interpretations and versions of Irish Mythology that in some cases she may be seen as also being the goddess Danu! Her whole Triple Goddess thing can get a bit confusing like that too, sometimes she seems to get roped in with The Morrigan and Macha and other 'goddesses' in Irish Mythology. Anyway, there's a confusing answer to a confusing subject! Thanks so much for checking out the video, I really hope you enjoyed it :)
