Yeaahh. Cause you basically barf out a massive jet of blood which would sound more like in Repentance.. so yeh.

I'm pretty sure Brimstone was actually at it's strongest state in rebirth so that's why it had such a powerful sound. As you can see in the final comparison the rebirth brimstone lasted the longest making it deal the most ticks of damage.

The sound matched the duration of the brimstone, however it could've been a little less loud and dramatic like the flash version. Talking about that, the flash version was the first version so the sound wasn't as advanced.

flash you could release the beam then spam to the other direction and deal something like triple your damage from what i remember

Does anyone remember how back then you could shoot Brimstone and charge a second shot while it was still firing? Brimstone was definitely an item that could beat the game by itself

You could also double brim by fast tapping, also known as brimsnapping

@@sbrostiansbrosorpitorps6315 I'm flash Issac, wrath of the lamb, you could shoot brim twice by double tapping the shoot key fast once It was fully charged. It was known as "brim-snapping"

Probably Repentance, since it's a lot easier on my ears. Strength wise goes to Rebirth. I mean come on, that beam sounds like it rips thru steel.

Definitely like Rebirth's one the most. Thankfully, there's a mod that restores that sound in Repentance, so I'm good to go. =)

I’d love to know about it as an Azazel main who loves the sound of the laser. I don’t have the other DLC yet (didn’t have the cash to snag more than afterbirth) but I’ve been meaning to get the rest.

The beam is just too grandiose for just a plain urping sound imo, repentance falls short on that note, but it's also supposed to be vomiting blood too, so just having a pure energy sound with some bubbling doesn't quite fit either in terms of visuals for rebirth. A mix would could make the best noise taking the best of all 3 really :D

Rebirth’s sounded strong Repentance made it easier on the ears and made it sound like bubbling blood Dogma’s is very loud but sounds strong And OG Isaac’s… uh…

I find it funny how rebirth sounds like a beam of energy with a bubbly sound, whereas the Repentance sounds like you are shooting a beam of blood.

Quick note about the rebirth brimstone: the sound effect changes when more than one beam is fired, or if an enemy shoots a brimstone beam. Only saying this cuz it wasn’t shown in the short :)

Og sounds like a liquid cannon being fired rebirth sounds like an 8-bit lion roaring and repentance sounds like projectile vomiting which actually is what brimstone is (brimstone is a blood lazer that Isaac spews out of his mouth)

Dang I played original Isaac forever, hearing that brimstone takes me back I remember getting that and instantly run won, when it came to rebirth they made the sound scarier and more like a demon robot but was used to that for a while too, then came repentance and tbh I like this one the most it sounds what I think someone who looked like that and shot a blood laser I think would sound like
