I find the missing poster ending to be the most ominous. Just the tattered missing poster being blown about in the wind, with Isaac's mother in the distance, looking for him. Second is the ending of his mother opening the chest. Third is the shot of the house and poster with Isaac's screams and cries in the background.

Man it kills me inside knowing how the full story in context ends with isaac terrified after his imagination runs uncontrolled after being pent up due to his mother taking away his things that he and his dad made out of either jealousy or grief, and that imagination that was his only coping mechanism after his father thought him how to channel it creatively ended up being the thing that both saved and killed him. And then, while dying, he imagined the entirety of the binding of isaac and at the end of the story he then imagines his dad retelling the story but happier. The boy was abused and confused and grieving and in the end died alone in the dark and terrified. I cry every time man. Such a depressing but fantastic story. Truly one of the best video games of all time.
