Watch as glassmaker Tom Ryder creates a large, flattened vase with an alternative cane pattern on the surface. See the final piece starting at 1:21:09. Find the full schedule of upcoming live streams at www.cmog.org/live
In our live demo series, Bring the Heat, join us for a live stream of glass artists demonstrating their expertise and skillful execution while “in the zone.”
During each demo, an artist will present a personal design they’ve worked to perfect, and they will be live on the mic to narrate as they work-a rarity for live artist demonstrations and a first at the Museum.
With a focus on light, most of Tom Ryder’s sculptural works are visualizations of energy, from energy in-between people to energy on a much larger scale. Read Ryder's bio www.cmog.org/bio/tom-ryder

W-O-W! This just never gets old!---I fell in love with the Hot Glass show on the Celebrity Cruises I took. I even won one of raffle items blown by the team on our first cruise! My friend won the first raffle of the trip!

beautiful piece, for sure, but Helen's comment about the cane work being perfectly centered just kind of sat wrong with me... you get more visual interest if things are offset just a little. I kinda liked the smaller one that was sitting on the marver early in the episode (the one on the right in the final images)- it was not "perfectly" centered... more interesting to me. Think about a favorite landscape photo - the main subject of the image is probably not perfectly centered, but off center just a little
