I love the way situations are shaping out! Strikes just the right balance of historical flavor and dynamic gameplay. I can see new situations being a big part of future DLC, and I'm excited for it!

In EU4 during the ming collapse event chain, a ming player gets an event to release a rebel nation or to release and play as them, so that's what I assume the Red Turban rebellion is. Also that last event is the warring states period of Japanese daimiyos, basically what eu4 has at the start for Japan after the weakening of the shogunate

Sengoku Jidai Period was in Japan when the ashikaga shogunate declined and the feudal daimyos rose to power.

Sengoku Jidai is the Japanese "Warring States period." Basically regional Daimyō / Commanders fighting between themselves and the Shōgun / General, all nominally loyal to the Emperor. It's a lot like the Zemene Mesafint (the "Age of Princes") in Ethiopia, which as its name implies was fought between the many regional Princes, who doubled as military commanders in their own right.

I think both sides of the columbian exchange would be two different situations The new plagues that wiped 90% of the New World pops But it would be also interesting to have a peaceful situation modeling the spread of all the new food crops from the New World in the Old World... and Syphilis!

I’m so excited for this feature. I was already planning to play Aragon for my first game and try to dominate the Mediterranean, and it’s really cool to see that I’ll have to content with other major powers for Italy. I wonder if they’ll have something similar fire in Anatolia? I was looking forward to figuring out how that region would ‘react’ to me sniping Byzantium for myself. Haha (assuming that’s even feasible in EU5)

12:25 meaning when you get the event to release them you can click an option where you switch to them.

99% sure it means you can tag switch. Let you play as the successors fighting over China, rather then being stuck as Yuan, or having to cheese the game with vassal release like in EU4. Suspect that will be a thing for other independence groups, of similar nature.

Yeah think it means like when in CK3 you get the option to play as a crusader realm if your house member gets that throne after a crusade, think you could do something similar with the pirate nation in EU4
