Jimmy I'm not sure if you have changed this or not, but your heat shield that goes over the water pan with the handle on it, you might want to look at the owners manual because you have it in backwards. The handle actually goes towards the back wall, and with the slats facing the back wall, the Grease will go into your drip tray instead of into your water. I've owned one for a couple of years and just thought I'd help you out with that. Love the name you gave the smoker. Over 2 years now, and I love the brunswick..

To me it doesn't produce enough Smoke even set at the lower levels. I test ran my yesterday with a Chuck Roast set at 225° I saw no smoke coming out of the chimney. Overall it came out OK but I thought it would have a little bit more of a smokey flavor, So this morning I got up and set it to a 190゚Still Very little smoke, I'm going to do a brisket overnight at low temperature and see what my bark turns out like. The most impressive thing though is that it holds temp very well.

Hey what’s up bro? I have a couple of questions for you. First, what type of pellets were you using? Second, what was the weather for you? Those two things play a very important roll in cooking on pellet cookers.

@@getjimmysbbq B&B Competition Pellets, the weather was probably in the 90ies so the unit did not have to struggle to keep Temp. My Chuck had a smoke ring but smoke flavor just was not to my liking. I'll figure out the unit though.
@getjimmysbbq
@getjimmysbbq 3 жыл бұрын
B&B is a great brand, in fact one of my favorites. We usually most “Competition” blends are a mixture of one hardwood and a couple fruit woods. I do agree with this choice for long cooks. However, you sound like you prefer a stronger mole profile in your meat. That is me as well. I recommend trying Sam’s club “Smokehouse” or the “50/50” hickory/ oak blend, or some other kind of blend with more hardwood. Your cooking temperature is fine. I must confess that I don’t cook that low. I’m around 250ish when I’m doing bbq. Give those pellets a try and let me know what you think.
