How to Downgrade Windows 11 to Windows 10
So you are wondering whether you can go back to Windows 10 From Windows 11 even after 10 days when the rollback. Has ended. You can still go back to Windows 10 from Windows 11 by doing a fresh install. You will need to backup all of your data as this will be erased during the installation process of Windows 10. If you're wondering whether your licence key will still be valid on Windows 10 after you go back, the answer to that is yes. If you was activated on Windows 11 and now you want to go back to Windows 10. The activation on Windows 10 should be valid and it will be activated during the installation process.

*Windows 11 has been horrible so far, Google chrome and PC lags and freezes (making the "Brrrr" sound when watching a video because it freezes) since downloading Win11.* I never got this issue with Windows 10

I think you can because they are both uefi. I have a windows 10 pc and I was able to install windows 8.1 because it was uefi.

@@cate7225 yeah , so i didnt go with my original plan. I have to say windows 11 are fine , you get used to them pretty quick. I didnt want to risk it by going back to windows 10 so i stayed, and am happy with it.

I completed the transition back to 10 and it’s so so much better..faster..Well maybe I was just used to 10, but a lot happier now that it’s back to MY normal. Seems to be running faster . I’ve saved your video just in case. What I appreciated most was your step by step approach so that pretty Much anyone can do this with confidence. Watched this video for confirmation before executing the downgrade last night, thank you for the video Britec09 🙏🏼 this works for me and it’s been working fine ever since. Windows 11 has too many internal issues that needs to be sorted out. For those who have not been experiencing issues, good for ya, for those who have been experiencing issues after the “upgrade”, I suggest you downgrade. For those who are curious and want to “upgrade” from Win 10, I strongly advise against it, if it ain’t broken don’t fix it, take care y’all

Thank you so much for all of your help. I followed your instructions to the letter and they worked like a charm. Since reinstalling Windows 10, my laptop works like it did when it was brand new and my two die cutting machines now link up like they did before 11 was installed. I have to tell a funny story though. Because it took so long to install, I went to bed at 2:00 a.m. on a Saturday morning and it was still doing it's thing. At 5:30, I hear a voice coming from my living room and I live alone! Well, it was Windows trying to instruct me on how to set things up and did not want to wait until a decent hour. I got up and spent a half hour setting things up before going back to bed. Too funny.

I've done this entire process since I realized (after switching to another pc and upgrading to 11) that half of my games, coding apps, ethical hacking apps require parts that are auto disabled and there is no easy way of re-enabling them

@@sen4269 I took the hard drive out of my new PC & connected it up as an external hard drive to my old Laptop, then from the laptop I did a complete format of the hard drive. I then connected the blank hard drive back into my PC.. you then have to boot the PC with a Windows 10 image on a USB stick & install it from there. Hope this helps.

@@mathew6290 If you bought the device and the device had windows 11 on it as its main Software then peformance would PROBABLY - probably be slow - Im here who bought Laptop Windows 10 on it and I got windows 11 last year upgrading back to windows 10 I'll tell you if gaming was slow or good or anything bad about it after I get win10 on my laptop.

I am so glad I decided to buy Acronis True Image. Having clones of my drive is a must for situations like this. I really don't agree with the policy of Microsoft to not allow me to install Windows 11 because of my processor. I have an I7 6700k 4.0 ghz processor. This processor will run Windows 11 with no problem, but because of the heavy handed policy of Microsoft, I cannot upgrade. I have been hearing a lot of people say they are unhappy with Win 11, so I wouldn't want it anyway.

Paul i,m with you , at first windows wasnt going to pull an apple hardware requirement then did an about face , there alot of work around KZfaq videos how to install on an older computer but what's the sense if your going to out of the loop as far as security updates & patches and it's another ploy to get us end users to upgrade their computers, pretty stupid

Well Brian I am trying out Windows 11 on unsupported hardware and am still getting updates and can find no reason to go back but in any case, I have 10 on my other drive so in my mind there would have to be some really bad bugs and things to stop me using Windows 11. Hmm a bit off-topic but you mentioned activating Windows and it just makes me wonder how many different combinations there are to service the entire world for example the number of combinations there must be for each copy one buys either OEM or retail??

I would think as long as both drives are for your on machine activation shouldn't be an issue , win 10 & win 11 , dont really care for win 11 bland look & their wallpaper

@@johnalm9238 Hello John yes mate well I just have two drives hooked up to power and just swap the data cable to which one I want the main thing is because the machine I built and love to use has unsupported hardware at least it has given me the chance to try out Windows 11. I actually don't mind it except for a few things like having to double click to shut down the machine as I am just an average browser and emailer and don't do anything fancy. I will agree getting the wallpapers and backgrounds sorted out is sometimes a pain but on the whole, it is not that bad but I am loathed to upgrade the one machine that is on supported hardware until I really have to and hopefully the OS will be mostly cleared of bugs etc.

Thank you for this. I bought a new, windows 10 backup laptop for my gaming laptop, thinking I would be able to get a windows 10 model now and not have to bother with windows 11 but during setup, they automatically upgraded to windows 11, no option to stop it from happening and no option to roll back to windows 10. SHAME ON MICROSOFT! I am now using your instructions to revert the computer back to windows 10. Since I just got it, I have no settings to worry about, just do a clean install. Boy am I ticked off at Microsoft right now! They are getting way too invasive. I'll have to think hard before buying another windows computer if they stay down this road.

It worked, for the most part. Still had to download some of the drivers from the manufacturers website but everything now shows installed correctly in device manager. I will, of course, be doing regular backups to avoid having to do this ever again in the future. Thanks again.

I really just want to install Linux Mint but every time I look for a way to do that on 11, videos send me to the Microsoft store. And I think it's very suspicious how easy Microsoft is making it to install it and through their own store non the less. There is no way there is no catch to this. I ran into some issues "downgrading" to Windows 10 on my Samsung Galaxy Book 3 Ultra. (It seems it gets more and more difficult to upgrade to Windows 11 from Windows 10). I did it, and I have made a video about it on my channel. The main 2 pieces of advice I have to those that are struggling is: Use "custom install" (not "upgrade") And if you lose all your drivers like I did, try running a factory reset when you finally have Windows 10. Unlike Lenovo, Samsung does not let you download images for their models online... And quite importantly: Do remember to back up a stable IMAGE of your OS to an external disk before you embark upon this journey. Just in case something goes wrong along the way... Just dual boot, until MS decides to remove its digit from its very deep and dark personal space. But if you do that by partitioning the drive, don't expect Bitlocker to work correctly !

I've had my wifi connection plagued by Windows 11 ever since I upgraded from 10 months ago. It's too late to revert so all my data will be lost but that's fine. It's worth the stable wifi connection. Thank you for the guide ❤

It only cleans the hard drive you have windows on, if you have your games installed on a different hard drive the games will still be on your computer and don't need a download, but if you have steam, epicgames and other launchers on your desktop like me, you'll have to download them again.

Note: As of Windows 11, if you are using a Samsung device, you may not be able to downgrade to Windows 10 depending on the model. This is because of Knox.

Hi, may I just check something. When you say everything will be erased does that include all drives in a partitioned drive? I partitioned my drive as C for OS and Apps and D for data. Will D also be erased?

Good video. I've always wondered when running an install setup how windows reboots several times (without a login) and retains the execution point in the setup process? It this some sort of warm swap or does it somehow edit the boot process to reenter that point in Setup, etc, just curious? Any links that would illuminate this facet?

If you're downgrading, you'll notice the "Your files, apps, and settings can't be kept because your current version of Windows might be installed in a unsupported directory or you're trying to install and older version of Windows." if that happens, just copy and paste all of your files on a USB flash drive, install windows 10, paste them right in and use away.

"How to Downgrade Windows 11 to Windows 10" I would call it an upgrade at this moment in time. If Windows 7 was still supported, I would even call that an upgrade of the upgrade that is called Windows 10. Never was there a more pointless Windows version than Windows 11. I really have to wonder why this was released.
