I am an American and I can tell you the Americans LOVE our British cousins. Any British person that comes to the U.S. would get a very welcoming reception. We love you guys.

The Brits are more than "friends" , they are our closest ally and have the full force of our military behind you. The men and women of the British military that have worked alongside us are absolutely outstanding.

US Navy story here- one of my husbands junior sailors went missing… on one of this carriers. He wasn’t overboard. He was literally just lost on board. For about 3 days.

I learned from YOU TWO that George Washington said: "What other countries do not understand is that Americans will die on our feet before we live on our knees." Again, THANK YOU!

I served in the US Army from 1980-2005 (12B5PS) and was proud to serve alongside British troops in Europe during the Cold War, and during war in Bosnia, Iraq, and Afghanistan. You are our friends now and forever.

My grandmother was straight from England. She moved here in the 50s and still had her British accent when she passed a couple years ago. She used to go back every year for a month at a time. She was the sweetest person I have ever known. God I miss her!! 😢

Worked with a lot of our British brothers and sisters in Iraq and Afghanistan. You guys are the example of silent professionals and I'm deeply humbled to have worked with the British Army.

Lest we forget that the largest standing army in the world are the American citizen, at over 90 million gun owners….We often hear a quote that was supposedly said by Japanese Admiral Yamamoto “ you can’t invade the mainland USA cause there will be a rifle behind every blade of grass”…. When I took my small children to a park near an Air-Force Base in America, I looked above us into the sky and saw a stealth bomber that was completely silent. It made me realize how amazing our Air Force truly is. These bombers are constantly being improved which is incredibly surprising and impressive!

While in the USMC, we were stationed on a RAAF base in AUS. Our pilots were there to teach the "dog fighting" techniques as well as rapid response and rapid aircraft turnover redeployment after flight runs. In other words, fastest ways to refuel and reload so the aircraft can return to the fight.

I’m proud to be an American, and also that we’re sooooo close to the UK. Some of the bravest men I’ve ever seen and have the highest respect for, were the RAF Spitfire pilots, though undermanned and outgunned, staved off the Nazis during the Battle of Britain. You would be hard pressed indeed, to find braver and more skilled airmen!

I knew a man once who's son worked on Top Secret projects in the US Military. The ONLY thing he would tell his father about what he knew is "We have nothing to worry about."

I am a Veteran Paratrooper of the 82nd Airborne Division, they failed to mention our ground forces that are the best trained and equipped in the world. Also, yeah the weapons they don't show you are pretty damn awe inspiring!

The B2 bomber is totally awesome. I live near it's home base. I find it amazing that you dont know it's overhead, or even hear it until it's long gone.

I've said it many times, but one could argue that America's greatest strength is its allies. The US and the UK are much more than friends, we're family. There isn't another pair of allies in the world that are as close as the US and UK. The only ones that come close are both countries' relationship with either Canada or Australia.

I'm surprised that they didn't mention the Railguns and Laser systems nearly into service. It's no secret that we have them anymore. Also, the US Department of "Defense" spent $705 Billion USD last year ($520 Billion Pounds UK) on weapons systems, stuff to fire out of those weapon systems, and people to use those weapons systems to fire stuff out of.

This gave me the chills. I was born in America of British stock, and have family in Surrey, so I'm really connected to both countries. However, I'm very loyal to my country, but, I'd stand up for my great grandparents homeland any day. Now, one question. When you showed the count of ships at sea, and planes aloft, were they really accurate? Possibly not. Never, ever give away too much info. You two are adorable.

I got out of the military in 92 after my six year hitch, and I can tell you that there was so much stuff we had back then that people still don't know about. So I can't imagine what it's at now.

As a country we as Americans have exsisted for roughly 300 years and we've spent over 270 of those years fighting.. Most of our battles we did not start, but rather policed to maintain a level of ethical dignity and the Geneva convention. Now those are not exact. It might be like 250 and something like 220 years waring. As for the Biritsh two of my best friends are Chaps n Blokes. That said we didn't just become friends with the strongest country in the world at the time. We had to fight and bleed togather for over 100 years to get to where we are today. Mutual respect.

I work on an Air Force base here in the states, so I have dealt w/ the RAF several times, and they are the nicest and friendliest people I know. I'm glad that we're allies, and I know we have each others backs when the proverbial shit hits the fan!!!

I was stationed at RAF Lakenheath during 911. The love and respect shown by our British family has always stayed with me. The front of the base next to the main gate was covered with flowers. I will always remember that image.

I served in the United States Navy on Aircraft Carrier back in the 80s and became very good friends with what I consider brothers from the Royal Navy . We are still brothers today and we meet each other every year alternating between the US and Britain

About 8 years ago I was in the US National Guard and we had some British troops staying with us and training with us. It was so much fun to mess with them because they had no idea how stupid and crazy we could be 🤣. But they definitely messed with us as well.

I was stationed at WSMR, NM in the late 90's. I'm not allowed to give interviews or write books on anything WSMR related until 2032. That's how serious they are about development. I also worked with British brothers in Iraq. Upstanding and honorable the entire time. Made no doubt they had our backs. We'd prefer to take care of problems ourselves - but they showed up every time we called. Mass respect.

As an American I have to say that I believe most all of us greatly value our allies in the UK. I know if needed I'd come fight for you. :) Though, I'm getting a bit old for it now days... lol

The greatest asset of the US Military is the ability to keep it all supplied. Aircraft Carriers get resupplied at least once a week. All the power is only as good as the supply chain supporting it. This is where the US is truly second to none.

A lot of our modern war vehicles came from ideas the British have had. As a for instance, the armor on our tanks. Really, having the British as our allies sure beats having them as enemies, like in our first two wars as a nation.

The US Navy does have 11 "super carriers" but what is never told is that we also have 10 amphibious assault carriers that haul around several helicopters and V-22 Ospreys but also 25 or so, depending on the mission, F-35s. The STOVL one that you guys bought. So the US actually has 21 carriers. Super carriers mass 100,000 tons, the "baby flattops" mass 45,000 tons. HMS Queen Elizabeth masses 65,000 tons for comparison.

We Americans have 4 elite branches. Army , Navy, Air Force, and a undeniable killer branch, Marines. But don't sleep on our close defense. The Coast Guard. And a whole infrastructure of local services. Also the pride of them all, our civilian.

Anyway, my brother spent a summer over there with them, and my cousin lived there of course...LOVED it there!! I think something that couldn't be overstated is the effect of having a heavily armed population. It may seem a bit weird to people from the outside but it's something that stemmed from the defensive nature of our country in the Revolutionary War

Our British brothers will always be part of our history, we've been fighting together since our independence.

I remember growing up in the late 70s early 80s on the West Desert of Utah between Hill Air Force Base and Nellis Air Force Base you used to see these in the 70s

American here. We love our British {and Aussie and Canadian and New Zealand and Scottish and Irish} cousins. We are tied by blood and so many other ways. All one has to do is study history to know that strong as America is, we are far stronger for being blessed by our closest allies. History also shows clearly what a brave, strong and determined lot you all are. What you have fought through and survived is no less than what we have. So much of it we fought through together. Salute to you all!

When I was in Iraq in 2004 we had so much ammo on base we were ordered to come back from our patrol in fallujah with very little . When he talks about 11 carriers he is not mentioning the 9 other carriers for the marines.

My youngest sister and her husband served in the Marine Corps, their son was in the navy and their daughter served in the Air force. One of my grandsons is in the Army.

I just came across you guys this morning, and I must say I'm so glad. I appreciate anyone taking the time to learn about the US and why we are the way we are.

Thank you for the shout out to the vets. It was an honor to serve. A very important part of the might of the USA are its leadership. Sadly, there's much to be desired of the current admin, but that's just my opinion.

One thing that wasn't mentioned about the Stealth Tech is, the craft can be detected but it is a ghost figure that really isn't there. So if the enemy fires a rocket at it, it just isn't there, it's a ghost or phantom space.

Most Americans, including myself, view the British as our brothers and sisters. Technically, we are your children. We were a colony of the British that fought for and won our independence, but still most of our laws and much of our culture is due to the British. So most of us have very strong and positive emotional ties to the U.K. (Now if we could only speak proper English... lol ) A few months after the attacks of 9:11 and after we had launched attacks into Afghanistan, (Which the British Army was part of) I met some U.K. Soldiers who had been training in North America. They were on a short leave before heading off to Afghanistan. I was so overcome with emotion... because for my whole life, and long before I was born, the United States had always sent troops to help our friends and allies, especially Britain in World War 1 and 2. But now during America's time of need, British soldiers had come to our aid. There were about 6 British troops at the bar, and I paid for their meal and all their drinks as a show of respect and kinship. I ended the evening with a toast. God Bless America and God save the Queen. We will always be friends.

Thank God it's the US that has these capabilities. A good offense is the best defense, or as our President Theodore Roosevelt said, "Walk softly, but carry a big stick!" We've got many big sticks, so we don't have to use them.

An F22 Raptor did a fly by during a Thundebird air show. Had to hold my heart. Thing was powerful.

I would add that the purpose of stealth isn't necessarily to be sneaky or whatever. The purpose is to be unable to be targeted by weapons systems. Even if you can see a stealth aircraft, you can't hit it with a guided missile.

I was “volunteered” to do flood control for the ICBMs in ND. Ten per control center. They could hear us chopping ice. They even pick up birds flying above it.

I was in the USAF from 1965-1969. After my tech.schools, I spent the next 3 years at Vangenberg AFB,California. I saw many Minuetman, Atlas, and Titan missile launches. Thankfully these were all test launches.

I was born and raised in the USA, but my mother is from South Wales, and I have been to the UK 6 times.. we'd never want to go to war with Britain. As you can see in the other comments, pretty much everyone here has a very positive view of the UK. 1776 was a long time ago.

Beesley, I had a roommate who had a friend whose father was a general in the U.S. High ranking. He told Suzanne that if we knew what went on that we didn't know about, we would be very scared.

I lived in England at raf Albury in the late 80's and there were at least 20 stealth aircraft housed there!! They're so cool, they have special paint the deflects radar.
