Wings of Pegasus Thanks for doing this. You have so much insight and knowledge to share. Definitely more satisfying to hear your thoughts on his live performance rather than a prerecorded miming performance. I would LOVE to see you react to more live performances by him. Anyway, as a huge Dimash fan, I think I speak for all of us "Dears" when I say thanks for doing the live reaction!!! How about some more??? You have a great way about you of explaining things. Pls do more Dimash for us??🙃

@@signedra1970 Since Israel has started this genocide, I am spending hours learning what the history is, and what is happening there, Dimash is an antidote to the pain we are all in over the slaughter of innocents in Gaza and the West Bank, I learned today, Germany is arresting Jewish activists and shutting down speech when it doesn't support the German country supporting Israels genocide of Palestinians.

Thank you for putting Dimash in such a bright light. He really deserves it. Everyone knows every singer might mime their songs sometimes. It depends on their health condition, or studio or show rules. What makes me mad, is that every-time when he has a performance someone has to fight in the groups to convince the fans he’s sang in playback. WE DO NOT CARE and that’s because we know already who’s Dimash, we know his huge potential. As fans( dears) we should support this brilliant young man, cause he deserves it in full.

I heard him live in London! There is this richness and power to his voice that one can't hear through the speakers at home. I love Dimash because he doesn't use autotune etc, he sings live most of the time (even in Russia, when it's a solo concert), and he sings like no other. For me the best singer, and I'm sure others could agree that he is the most unique singer out there. I just can't think of any other singer with such a wide vocal range, a variety of singing styles, zero hesitation to sing in a dozen languages, and who can also compose and play various instruments. And after all the success, remains humble. My favourite female singer, Eva Ayllon, has recently declared Dimash to be the best singer... so I reassured myself that I'm not crazy! Thanks Fil for your videos. It was particularly fascinating to hear about the relation between his hand movements and vocal chords, as well as mental imagery, such as playing the piano.

Today is 11-12-21 and I just watched your video. I have been following Dimash for close to 5 years now and until listening to this analysis, I had no idea about his visual imagery or the meaning of his hand gestures. I was aware, however, how Dimash uses energy, as well as the power of meditation. I am almost 70 years old and I have never - ever - encountered anyone like Dimash. Up until right this moment, I’m learning things about him - and with awe. Dimash is a gift to us all!! Thank you, WP, for this informative video!

This is an absolutely fascinating analysis and explanation. I always thought Dimash sang with his hands, but now I know why and how, and I'll be watching his hands even more now. It makes me appreciate even more just how hard he is working as he gifts us with his spectacular voice. I'm not surprised at all by the fact that sometimes he is forced to lip sync. I knew that Russia specifically had certain rules about it. I just feel bad for Dimash that he has to do it even when he'd much rather sing live. Thank you so much for sharing your insight and observations with us.

Thank you Thank you for your analysis of his hand gestures. I had noticed his hands give a hint of what is going on with his voice - as when he is going up to a higher range, he raises his hand over his head somewhat, with his index finger and thumb touching. Sometimes when he trills, he looks like he is strumming the instrument native to Kazakhstan and sometimes piano. His hands and fingers are long and slim, and he is so graceful. His performances are events.

@Lord Tripathy I'm not. I get chills cause it brings back old memories. You know the kind that haunt you? Maybe you don't know since you've had a perfect life. There is absolutely nothing wrong with a homosexual. If it makes them happy more power to them. You shouldn't assume if you don't understand why someone might say something. The song is nostalgic in a haunting way. If you had shred of emotion or common sense you'd get that. Since your a bigot and a homophobe I'm requesting you don't speak to me again I have zero tolerance for hate.

@@jr4chargers I get irritated by people like him because I have hear that non-sense nearly non-stop here in the US. I have friends from all walks of life and I think people are people. Plus it didn't help that he was disrespecting my memories the song made me nostalgic for. I can't help but be defensive of the people I care about. But I've no doubt he doesn't feel the music only that it's a man that gives him an emotional response. This country has a bad habit of equating emotion with sex or weakness. And I feel music should be respected, even cherished. As should the memories we carry with us. You aren't wrong though, I just wish I could ignore that level of hate. Learn to love others for who and what they are and our world would be a better place. I may not be gay but I have friends who are and they get treated poorly here just being who they are. Would you agree that it can be taxing on a person's anxieties to hear and see that constantly?

Soooo interesting analyzed!!!! I went to Dimash's concert once (WOW Arena) and realized how much more connection you see between his vocals and body in comparison to lipsynced videos in a way he approaches new phrases or notes with intense face expressions and body movements. He sang every song differently from the studio version and very creatively and unique. When you miss some nice moment you used to from the recorded song, you get just right after even more to be stunned by. The mimed performances which are usually the most popular because of TV and the quality and the occasion make me think that artists probably can’t sing that good at all and raise suspiciousness in me which I don’t like.

I enjoyed every minute of it and understand now what Dimash is doing a lot better once again. please keep doing analyses on Dimash. I am not going to send you suggestions of the songs where his vocal gymnastics are out of this world because you probably have them already. thanks a lot again! I suggest your video to be watched in Dimash's fanclub communities in Facebook as well.

Thank you for this fantastic analysis. I was a little flustered over yesterday's video to be honest, but my ire came more from the disrespectful comments some people were leaving about the miming than your actual analysis. In my mind, that's all people were getting from the analysis and it bugged me because we KNOW he's a fantastically skilled artist. It lightens my heart that you took the time to do a second analysis and dig into his skill in a live performance. Most of us know artists have to lip sync sometimes. Ignore the trolls (ie the faux fan who was giving you hell). I respect YOUR skill too much to place any blame on you for telling it like it is. And it's still his voice even if he's miming...the guy rocks. Have a blessed day!

I could name others that are great at storytelling with the qualities of their voices but I figured more people would know them worldwide. Plus I know Fil knows and respects those artists talents do they were good examples.

And Dimash not only does things with his voice that I never heard before but he can all do this live! And I think he uses his hands the most with this song. Another reaction that focuses on stage presence mentioned he gathers energy from his gestures and stances. I would really like to see more of your analyes on Dimash :), Thank you so much again!

Dimash singing SOS in Singer 2017 is the gold standard of analysis and reaction videos. This song is what put him on the map. It is a very difficult song to sing and he sings it masterfully mindboggling. It is a very sad depressing song and he has the right expressions throughout the entire song to do the words and music justice like no one else can. But right at the end of the song, he can't keep from smirking just a bit, because he knows he nailed it. Watch it just for the smirk. But do an analysis. People from all over the world check every week just to see the latest analysis of this video. You will get lots of hits and fans you would not get otherwise.

My favorite version of SOS as well! You are one of those, who had noticed the smirk, I also absolutely adore 😍. The singer is live but the show does post production on every contestants! At least, that's what I heard! What exactly post production means would be interesting! Do they pitch correct? Meaning the audience hears or heard the live vocal? Maybe FIL can explain this sometime. If he has already... please recommend me the video!

Wow, so refreshing to see such authenticity in a reaction. I think most of us reactors are often complicit of being overly positive and rarely point out negative things by fear of getting destroyed in the comments. For example, I never published our Dimash "Notre Dame de Paris" reaction because as a French-Canadian I didn't like that performance at all (I could not understand a single word). I am sure other reactors also never publish some negative or neutral reaction, and it's a shame really because it gives a false impression that we are all always on the same page.
