Three things. 1) Yes, I probably put on a little bit of weight over Christmas (happens every year). 2) No hate mail doesn't affect me in anyway - I read it for entertainment purposes. 3) Of course I'm hugely grateful for all the positive comments I receive daily/weekly. I probably wouldn't be making videos if it wasn't for them and I wish I could give a hat or pen to everyone who has left a positive comment over the years. Just don't expect a nice comment reading video in a hurry (limited entertainment value) - that said, I'm looking at doing a monthly comment video responding to comments and questions in general! Could be jolly good fun. And above all, 4) I can't believe it but I recently discovered the secret to an unbelievably amazing source of........ah, wait, I said "three things". I'd better leave it there.

Hey Chris, I only discovered your *informative* and *extremely fun* videos (and podcast!) recently as doing research on Japan. I’ll be visiting (for my first time) Tokyo and Hokkaido in June/July 2019 - 40 years in the making! I absolutely LOVE your videos. I think they’re brilliantly done and I sometimes read comments from others; I say to all those jealous haters out there. Fuck ‘em! Keep doing what your doing and I hope you continue these videos and podcasts as they’re quite entertaining and I’ve learned so much. I feel I’m prepped for Japan, yet, I know I’ll be gobsmacked and probably hit with that “culture shock” everyone keeps warning me about. Cheers mate! From Abbotsford, BC Gregory Ould

That 'Mexicano Pride' comment really riled me up, I think almost everyone is extremely self conscious, I'm always worried about the way people think of me. One of the main reasons as to why I'm stopping myself from moving to Japan is because I'm so worried about acceptance. I find that I depend on other people perhaps more than I should and if I moved to Japan I would have nobody to turn to. I would feel really horrible if people would judge me or see me as an outcast. Chris I think you are so brave to speak English in front of all of these Japanese people because if I were you I would worry about them thinking I'm another dumb tourist or somehow thinking I'm inferior to them. I know the majority of Japanese people don't think this way but this is just the way my mind works. I hope you can understand what I'm trying to say here.... I believe you are a very brave and confident person (not to mention that your humor is the best thing since sliced bread) so thanks for bringing a bit of Japanese culture into my inevitably mundane British lifestyle. Cheers :)

Abroad in Japan: Ah, good to know. At least it's interesting to see people try... but of course, it's impossible to beat the hate that shines brightly when it's burnt. One last thing, wouldn't it be a shame if _somehow_ a rabbit plush joined Mr. Snuggles? And of course, keep up the good work! :D

I love your videos and your creative spin on them! They are educational while being entertaining and interesting. Thanks to you, I've learned a bit more Japanese than before. Currently I know around 80% of Hiragana which is not bad, but still need to learn Katakana and get started on Elementary Kanji and work my way up. Of course I'm not studying it everyday, but it's nice to learn and absorb the information about culture, places in Japan, footage of personal adventures including with friends and the various breathtaking scenery and landmarks captured. btw Natski is a National Treasure.

7:12 maybe some people go to Japan or wherever simply because they want to go to Japan. I wouldn't care if Japanese people don't accept me as JAPANESE, I mean - I'm not. I'm Bulgarian, that's where I'm from, who I am. I wouldn't care if they don't view me as Japanese (since I'm not), I just want to live together nicely. These people are so friendly and hospitable, what more do you want? Seriously people, find your identity in something else and not in nationality. P.S. I'm not resided in Japan. Planning to in a few years. But I've still got an opinion, deal with it.

Hi Chris my only regret for your videos is I didn't discover you sooner. Your subject material is always fun and I learn something. The chemistry with your guests and regular contributors has really made you a professional production and keeps getting better. It would be easier to recommend you to more people with less swear words though, otherwise your absolutely brilliant keep it up.
