Prince William was so beautiful. And so tragic how he died age 30. But Richard, the younger son, has done well. I love that he's the patron of the Richard III Society, something like that. Richard III had the same title, Duke of Gloucester, before he was King.

@@josephallwood5070 , Parliament declared the princes and their siblings to be illegitimate, so the crown went to Richard as the next in line. He didn’t just decide to be king; Parliament said that he was. So he had no need to kill his nephews.

The duke of Gloucester was the image of my late brother in law. He look so relaxed compared to his brothers although a cigarette is constantly in his hand. His son, Prince William was gorgeous. I just watched a video of him.

Being the next eldest brother of George VI, the Duke of Gloucester was third in line to the throne during the war years and his little son, Prince William, fourth in line.

R. Crompton and it should be remembered that this adorable little prince William was later killed so tragically at the age of 30 in an airshow crash. He was a special young man in his short time, marched to the beat of his own drum, and tried very hard to separate himself from Royal life and make his way in the world on his own merits. So sad seeing him as a carefree little toddler here.

R. Crompton : An interesting fact that is very often overlooked is that the Duke of Gloucester was designated Prince Regent to Princess Elizabeth (current Queen) should serious illness or death happened to his brother King George VI before Elizabeth had reached the age of 21.

Katheryne Koelker : You maybe right, I was going on the assumption that the age of consent then was 21 and you were then classed as an adult! I wasn’t allowed to vote until I was 21 and that was the late 60’s!

Why did they seal the records of his plane crash for 100 years??? Makes me wonder what really happened to that plane? He was an experienced pilot.

Probably the royal family decided to kill him for going back to zsuzsi and created the plain accident the way they did the car accident for princess Diana and dudi when they decided to get marry!

The report of his plane crash is online, it clearly shows pilot error. He was the 9th in line to the throne, why would he be a target? Politicians would be more so targets of any kind of conspiracy rather than royals who do nothing but wave to the public and cut ribbons nowadays

My Aries partner is born the same day as James Scott 1st Duke of Monmouth who would have been a good Protestant King and Britain would have seen a direct lineage of Kings to the present day if King Charles ll didn't have Catholic sympathies and saw to it that his Catholic brother James take the throne who then brutally had Lord Monmouth s head taken off. An unforgivable act. There is no proof at all that Charles didn't marry Lucy Walters, he carried some secrets. Charles French mother was Catholic and this was why he was in awe of the Catholic faith. Charles ll was a Gemini, typically this way and that. Reigned as a Protestant and died a Catholic on his death bed. James ll lost and his Protestant daughter Mary was a lovely Queen but the throne should have rightfully gone to Lord Monmouth.

my god, everone down in comments must be atleast over the age of 70. I'm super bored because of the stupid quarantine and somehow found myself looking up the BRF tree and was curious to see all these people that we never hear about who are still alive. apparently this must be the current duke of G's father? no idea who this william they keep talking about is

RockyCycle the current Duke of Gloucester only inherited the title because his elder brother William was killed in the 1970s in a plane crash

It was genetic luck. William was quite the looker compared to the other males in the royal family. Richard came out how you'd expect their children to look. With William it was some kind of genetic miracle. Even his uncle, Prince George, Duke of Kent, who was revered as being a looker in his day had nothing on William. He was very good-looking, especially for a royal. They're a strange looking bunch.
