I always add spices in mine. Spicy fajita seasoning pack, mixed with nandos piri piri medium sauce does the job 😋 Edit: if you have those triangle toasters, it's a game changer. Put cheese and beans on the bread and press it into a sandwich until it toasts. The best beans IN toast ever 🤙🏻

I really enjoyed watching this, and did so while I was eating the first beans on toast I'd ever had. I'm an American in Florida who watches East Enders and they are forever eating beans on toast, and in between the mayhem and squinting to grasp the accents, my curiosity had got the better of me. I had never seen anything but a picture, and so while eating, I was on google looking at different ways to cook and found your wonderful video. First, I didn't have any Heinz beans like you have in the UK, so we had just soaked and crock-potted some black-eyed peas ( a bean if there ever was one) yesterday, which I reheated in a saucepan. We always add enough water to the crockpot so that they create their own liquid though creamy "liquor" which is a delicious natural sauce. For toast, I used rye bread I had on hand. While the beans were heating, I cracked an egg into them and poached it, putting the lid on to cook the egg with the steam from the cooking beans. That actually worked really well after I added a bit more water to keep the beans from sticking. My toast was pretty well browned and crunchy, but i used it anyway. Spooning the beans on along with the egg, which had a nice runny yoke, I just added salt and pepper. So my effort was savory with the flavors of the bean, salt and pepper and rye. I have to say I was impressed with my first effort. Sadly I didn't take a pic of my food - who DOES that, anyway?...lol. I'm a convert and will introduce it to the rest of the household, and start getting adventurous. I would personally shy away from anything resembling an american barbecue sauce - it's overused here and I really don't want it on beans. BTW in the US we call coriander "cilantro", the spanish word for it and it's very commonly used in tex-mex and mexican dishes here. The first time I had it was in a tripe dish called Menudo, which is a traditional Mexican dish served New Years Day and made with tripe, and I too though it tasted like soap! But now, I cannot imagine not having it with certain foods. Hang in there - it grows on you.

I'm a Londoner who never watches EastEnders but MY way of doing beans on toast is very simple. Heat Heinz baked beans. Toast any sliced white bread you have to hand (my preference is toasted almost to cremation) but the trick is to NOT put the beans actually ON the toast otherwise it goes all soggy. Add Heinz tomato sauce and enjoy! Welcome to England mate 😉

Who makes beans on toast like this? It’s supposed to be quick when you can’t be bothered to cook. These are all too much effort 😂 butter toast, put warmed beans on top. Sometimes I’ll toast the bread, but some beans on, put cheese on top and grill. But that’s only if I’m feeling fancy with my baked beans 😂😂

This comments late but I’m a Brit and know about beans on toast. So.... Get the same very thick sliced white bread, a good salted butter. Toast the bread till it’s a light to medium golden all over add the butter to top side. Add extra mature cheddar grated all over the toast. Put it under a bit to close to heat, grill at light/medium heat, half way as cheese starts to bubble add splashes of Lea & Perrins Worcestershire sauce too cheese topping then return under the grill till the cheese has bubbled and formed a light golden crisp. Place on plate and cover with piping hot cooked Heinz Baked beans. Remember never boil the beans as they cook it ruins the flavour just cook for 2-3minutes in a microwave at 800watt power and stir for 20 seconds halfway through. On a hob medium-low heat for 3 minutes stirring occasionally as bubbles start to form until beans feel softer and sauce has slightly thickened. Add tobacco or sriracha if you like spice. And Enjoy 🤤

I've always wondered what cilantro/coriander actually tastes like. Could you describe it for me? I've got the gene too, so I tend to avoid it. (I can take it in very small amounts, but any more than a pinch and it's like I've stuck a bar of soap in my mouth. I assume it must taste pretty good, otherwise.)
@whoopsydaisy6389
@whoopsydaisy6389 4 жыл бұрын
@@mimahakurei4430 The best way I can describe it is like super fresh parsley (the fluffy kind not flat leaf) with a hint of citrus blend that's hard to pinpoint. Maybe a spritz of lemon, kumquat, lime, and a tiny hint of grapefruit.

As an aging Aussie baked beans on toast was always either Saturday or Sunday tea and it was just simple heat beans, toast bread, butter bread add beans while everything is hot eat. As the toast got soggy with the melted butter and beans it just got better. Some of these looked really nice just not what I grew up with and as I've gotten older I've started enjoying eating the food of my youth which means that either it's just me or me and the lad.

My baked beans on toast recipe (and proly 90% of your recipes aswell lol) 1. Turn the oven on 2. I take two slices of bread (doesn't matter on the type) and spread some butter/ margarine on them 3. I take some Hienz baked beans and heat them up in the micro wave for a bit, then put them on the bread (I also add a bit of salt) 4. I great some cheddar cheese and sprinkle it all over the beans! 5. I put them in the oven for 2 minutes and take them out when they look cripsy And that my friends... is how you make beans on toast😎

Every time someone says they think coriander (as we call it: cilantro) tastes like soap, it makes me happy to know I’m not alone. It LITERALLY tastes like dish soap! Great smell, if I’m washing with it lol but I CANNOT eat it (to be fair, scientists explained why a small percent of people can taste the soapy quality and the rest can’t, kind of an interesting study actually)
