My Daddy lived only 4 months with Glioblastoma and if he had been given the same chance to choose his way out, I would have supported him 100%. Instead we had to watch him become someone else, only a shell of the man he was. God bless this family that loved this beautiful, courageous woman

What a remarkable woman. I pray for this beautiful ladies bravery if my time is ever predicted. Her saying that she wanted her husband to become a father and to move on. I have no words except, we'll all see you in Heaven. RIP..beautiful girl.

Everyone should have that right ..... who is anyone to judge another... if people have never seen how bad it can get closer to the end with an individual with a terminal illness ... Brittany’s decision is the way to go .... she is a picture of strength and courage ... god bless her and her family and friends!!

Your comment was spot-on until you injected a deity. Nope. It is the god believers who relentlessly squelch the death with dignity movement. Allah, Zeus, Yahweh, etc. has no place in this conversation Did you hear Brittany's husband mention god? You did not.

i have always believed that living is different from having a life. she could have chosen to fight and live and have all the pain and suffering she could never imagine or, as the choice she took, she could have a life, though short, that is meaningful and well spent with people she loves and loves her.

Thank God she had a choice and took it. I had a brother that died of esophageal cancer he was a miserable person all his life and he had a miserable death. (CARMA) I think he weighed like 65 pounds when he died, the crazy thing IMO is he knew he was going to die a miserable death, but he wanted to hang on until the bitter end. I know we're all going to die and I have accepted that, I just don't want to die like he did. Cancer is like you are rotting from the inside out. TheReaper!

The only disdain I really have for this law is the fact that you are so limited in terms of having to administer the medication to yourself. Realistically I believe the patient should have the option to sign a treatment plan early on while still in a competent state of mind that allows a second party to assist if the condition worsens and the patient becomes immobile. Unfortunately the word slippery slope will be used to death and really pushy religious fanatics will fight tooth and nail to prevent this. The end result with the law as is has patients feeling a bit rushed and not really being able to really "Cease each day" because they become a bit overly focused "Should I do it now?" due to the guidelines.

Calling a person of faith a “religious fanatic” is every bit as offensive as calling a person of color a nigger.

Mental illness and terminal illnesses are both very different circumstances. In either care though, people who struggle with mental illness deserve the choice of death w dignity too.

People who suffer from mental illness can get better with help. People who have a terminal illness don't have that option. Not the same situation by any means. Think before you spit disrespectful blabber out of your mouth.

Edward Wolski wow you must be a real internet basement dweller. Do you think religion fell off in the 12th century? in fact it went quite strong till the 1800's until revolutionary scientific discoveries started taking place but even then the majority of the world is still religious even if they aren't practicing. in fact 80% of the US claim to be Christian where as there are billions of people world wide with theological beliefs. seriously you people who live in your mother's basement are the dumbest of dumb.

Alot of people gave her responses saying and showing proof that they had the same thing as her but survived got cured because they believed they could find a way out and they did, they changed the way they eat to fruits and vegetables only and lots of water and exercise and i really hoped at least to hear that she saw those responses and that she would have tried them but then i saw this video, Rest in Peace Brittany.....

Fruits and veggies?.I had breast cancer, and let me tell you something adriana mendes Veloso all the fresh fruit and veggies or canned fruit and veggies or frozen fruits and veggies will NOT DO A DAMNED THING to get rid of cancer. What I find galling is all the people that never had cancer come up with all those cutesy little saying and all those horrid pink ribbons.Do any of you that so love to do that really think we like and appreciate it?. Because we do not like those pink ribbons cancerous tumors are not afraid of pink assed ribbons!. We need cures not cutesy shit!.

Susan W. Okay first I have the right to give my opinion and about the Veggis and fruits is actually a research that actually did cure people with terminal cancer not breast cancer, terminal cancer i said, Organic food not canned or frozen Susan, i don't pity or think of things as appreciation I've had lots of family members who had terminal cancer that have died and that have been cured so i am not just giving stupid ideas i am actually saying things that have cured people with terminal cancer, i am sorry to the fact that you suffered from breast cancer and i really don't know what gets rid of breast cancer other than surgery and prevention before hand and there is also this plant here in Brazil in my town who loads of scientists and lab searchers are examining cause it's seems to be a cure but they are still testing it so i can't say to try it out, since i only know one person who has being cured by it.. so Susan i am not a doctor and this is the internet were we can all give our opinions and I only tried to help since i fell for her sorrow and since she post it on the net whats the problem with people trying to help others??? there are people who actually wants help instead of you insulting someone because they gave an idea that has been source of cure to others.

Susan W. My uncle beat lung cancer through taking juice plus capsules (100% fruit and veggie capsules). 100% natural no pesticides fruit and veggies. He never lost his hair through chemo/radiation either. He shouldn't have smoked, but yes cancer is in our foods. The FDA doesn't care about your health or your risks. Half the drugs and foods approved in this country only cause more risks and disease down the road.
@TDBee09

Daniel Thomas I never said that it could cure her...I just gave an example of a 100% fruits and vegetable option and the antioxidants working in overdrive to help my Uncle. First off you don't know me or my Uncle. My family farms and we live off the land. We don't have HBP, Diabetes, etc. My Uncle got lung cancer because he smoked and put harmful carcinogens in his body, however, Juice Plus supplements did help him. That and prayer. They gave him 6months to live. We had faith and prayed and he continued to live past their "death date". He also didn't ever lose hair and if anything the chemo was the cause of his bad days. I believe in God and I believe that he created us, he gave us life, we had the faith that he knows how to take it away. I didn't criticize Brittney's decision and I know what she had, we've discussed this cause in my DOCTORAL level Bioethics class. Plus my comment was in response to Susan. I am also not a liar and considering you can't have a conversation without cussing, I don't really take it that you researched your own claims or studied medicine at all. I agree in her autonomy and wasn't criticizing her in anyway and since I've actually researched her as a person, I can honestly say she wouldn't want people like you speaking on her behalf. There's a reason she did a full length documentary, so she could speak for herself. This is the last of any comments to you. You're definitely entitled to your beliefs, but you need to learn how to speak to people in a less defensive and attacking manner. And FYI most drugs are synthetic man-made version of components that exist naturally in plants, however, the FDA can't patent and sell things that naturally occur in nature.

***** I asked my husband because I wanted the opinion of a man in this situation.His thoughts on this are- that he wouldn't be able to talk about this yet especially not on national T.V. He felt this guy may be going through a stage of anger. He also said if we were in this position he would support me as he wouldn't want myself or anyone to suffer for him. I felt a little angry at him for saying he would allow me to kill myself but I if I had the option to suffer or kill myself I still have to say I wouldn't take the easy way out.Maybe the husband is going through an angry stage.They say ppl go through different stages of grief . I guess I just expect a little more emotion after only just burying his young wife .

We are in hell. And I hate it. Every wonderful moment in hell is heaven. Like when I'm at the spa, when I make love, when I see my plants grow, when I harvest, when I behold nature and its beauty, when my husband holds me like he doesn't want to let go and say, I love you, when people change the lives of those in need for the better, heaven.
