amazing vid! saved me a from throwing out 2 spray bottles. i added my own touch by smearing a thin layer of silicone grease into the shaft where the pump slides.

I put a smaller spring inside the larger one instead of stretching it, works perfect now. I pulled the spring from an old pen, it's exactly the same length as the larger one.

I'll admit to not wanting to buy another spray bottle -- I'd pick up a dollar if it were on the ground, after all. Then there's the whole plastic ending up in a dump for eternity, even though it was supposed to be recycled (I've read some stuff). I've taken to saving spray bottles, that work reliably, to switch out for a dud. This is even better! Thanks for adding another tool to my arsenal

another thing you can add to this fix is to use a little silicone grease on the piston part that goes up & down so there will be less friction or less grab it worked for my bottle. If it happens again I'll try this

I love this dude. I had no expectation of finding a solution to this problem, but figured I’d try. Totally blown away.

Thank you! I just about had a "come apart" over the 4th Home Depot crap a** spray bottle I bought that quit spraying AGAIN. Fixed the crappy thing. It had a rubber sheath around the spring. Ripped half it off trying to get the spring out. Works fine without the half that was further inside.

This helped me take mine apart enough to get at the spring and discover that it's simply broken. Now trying to get into another bottle that doesn't work to see if I can use the spring from that to fix this one. I get what you say about it not being about the dollar. I don't want to have to stop ironing and go to the store and buy another spray bottle, especially as I live in Europe and that means public transportation. Also, the shops are shut on Sunday, so I couldn't find one anyway, and tomorrow is a national holiday - shops shut again. I just want to get on with dampening my clothes and ironing them. So now it's a trick to get at the spring in the other bottle, as it's a different kind of mechanism and it appears that the spring is sealed inside plastic (which is highly unlikely...). I'll work this out!

Lubing where the pump slides also helps to reduce the friction, that's how I've fixed some of my bottles in the past. I just put a drop of oil in the cylinder. Still working even 3-4 months later.

Love this! I saw four other videos. Like a good American you got right down to it. Plus my bottle is also a WalMart purchase. They all have the same issue. I would buy these at HD for $3 and the produced the same results. Thanks for the tip 👍🏽🇱🇷 Going to try this.

They're a little more than a dollar and they didn't last more than a few weeks.. I have two of them every time I squeeze the trigger the fluid goes all over the place , No matter how I adjust the front nozzle when I squeeze the trigger lots of it goes out the nozzle like it's supposed to but lots of it kick back and squeeze all over my hands

My boyfriend is a bit irresponsible I let him use my spray bottle that has my dilated all purpose cleaner that I spray around the house. He manhandled it I guess and it won't spray properly. Due to the plunger getting stuck

This would probably work, at least temporarily, if I could get past step one. That pin, man... it just won't come off. I have a feeling it's because of the retaining end on the other side, but if I cut that off, it won't stay put once it's re-assembled. The one thing that seems to be built to last on this spray bottle, and it's the stupid pin. Augh!
