"The thing about being aggressively straight is that is makes people think you're compensating for something." That's high school is a nutshell.

I really cant say much for either sexuality or straight guys as a whole, but my experiences with them as a publicly out trans guy is surprisingly good? ive gotten unquestioning "youre my bro" and unfaltering support at best and "oh shit sorry dude" misgendering at worst. i think straight men have the capacity to be fuckin rad about the topic but mainstream media doesnt want to touch it

What I love about Superbad is that the gay moments never really come across as jokes. It's more character building. They're obviously outwardly kinda homophobic (they're teenage boys, so...), but they're bonding is rarely played for laughs.

You should check out 4th Man Out. It's sort of a bro-comedy/drama about a gay guy who comes out to his straight best friends and how everyone deals. It also deals with him coming out (being outed) to his family and his horribly awkward attempts at dating.

Lets all agree that I Now Pronounce You Chuck And Larry is the most offencive film made in the last 20 years and should be forgotten.

I know it's one of the shittiest things ever made, and not just because Adam Sandler stars in it, but _I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry_ was one of the first movies I saw that portrayed homosexuality in a sympathetic or positive light. For context, when I saw this I was a fairly narrow-minded, Christian child. Homosexuality was one of those "hate the sin, love the sinner"/"just a phase" deals. Needless to say, I eventually grew out of that which led me to be more questioning and open about my own identity. And now I need an "Adam Sandler Needs More Gay" to resolve my conflicting past.

TheNumnutRandomness It's such a weird film. It's so homophobic and yet it's also oddly sincere in its message of treating gay people compassionately, while also making fun of them. And bisexuality doesn't exist at all.

Have you seen Swiss army man? I'm still not quite sure if I can consider it a "bromantic comedy". Nonetheless, I think it contains an interesting look on masculinity

I want there to be a high quality hetero-flexible romance in english.

Well that episode ended abruptly. (Yes, I know it's ~6 years old, but it's not like Rantasmo has changed his format at all).

Chuck and Larry is the worst.

Oddly enough, the director of 'I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry', Dennis Dugan (of The Howling!), played the boyfriend of Redd Foxx's son in the movie 'Norman...Is That You?' in which Foxx tries to turn his son straight. Keeping the tradition of homosexuality as a comedic tool strong.

Heteroflexible romance... I love that term

Chuck and Larry is depressing. Why was it considered funny?
