"Guys. You just ACTIVELY KILLED THREE PEOPLE. I mean, yeah, victory and all. But is this really an appropriate time for...cartwheels? I wonder if this is what Seal Team 6 did." "Fortunately the ensuing struggles gives the sun enough time to be like, 'Whaddup? I'm the sun.'" LOL

this is and has been one of my all time favorite movies. as a kid, it was just the right amount of scary to send a tingle up my spine and as an adult, it is campy fun. as an adult now, i also appreciate it for the fact that it was a man who turned out to be the token virgin. so many movies/books/etc. would have gone for the love interest to be the virgin and the fact that alison passes (possibly because she isn't a virgin) and that max ends up being the token virgin is a really powerful story element that i haven't seen used since.

Ghost-style Thackery = one of my first gay moments.

Holy shit, I just realized that Thackery has the same actor as Agent McGee from NCIS. Whoda thunk it?

His name is Jason Marsden (No relation to James). He's worked on several projects, and he's a talented voice actor.

I was 15 when this movie came out and I had to watch it because I had such a big...thing for Omri Katz and Sean Murray. It was totally embarrassing renting a little kids' movie, I think I also rented something rated R so maybe the clerk would think it was for my little sister and not for me to...uh, let's say I thought the movie was terrible but that doesn't mean that I didn't watch several parts of it in slow motion.

2:47 - I have almost the same haircut as that blond guy. Dammit. Or by "these haircuts" did you mean "haircuts were you shave your head to spell things"?
@ingonyama707 жыл бұрын
Yes, regrettably. There were people who shaved all kidns of embarrassing stuff into the backs of their heads in the 90s. "ICE" is fairly mild...I knew one guy in middle school with the Ghostbuster's logo shaved into the back of his. My parents wouldn't let me do it with the X-Men logo...for which I am eternally grateful.

I don't remember seeing this as a kid, but I'll check it out. I remember The Witches and I have to say I love love loved it! Roald Dahl wrote great books with a child audience, though he didn't really like them so much...

I'm not gay...but I love this movie. The visuals, the story...I know that it's not to everyone's tastes. But I love it. Tons of imagination went into it. Weird thing is, or the reason why the movie didn't do so well, is that there were issues with the sound. Siskel and Ebert for example hated the movie. And there biggest complaint was the audio. I think at the time they used a different audio system, but many cinemas couldn't handle it. So the sound quality was poor. Still, if you want some nostalgia, check this movie out. :)

I have to disagree with your first assessments. Actually with Disney, all that creepy stuff is not that surprising. Just look at some the animated stuff, and not even the newer stuff. The Classic stuff is pretty scary. Like Mickey Mouse summoning the Devil, and Maleficent summoning the powers of hell and becoming an evil dragon. Multiple character falling to their deaths of meeting their ends in ghastly ways.

Love your videos, but i have a request: Animation needs more gay. Considering it's only recently that mainstream animated films (ok... film) have included openly gay characters (Paranorman), it could be an interesting thing to do, as you could also talk about coded gay characters in animation, like Cloper in Hunchback of Notredame. Plus, you could take a look at some anime, like Junjou Romantica. Just a suggestion, sorry if its lame :) xx

I always found it a littler weird that they cast Gary and Penny Marshall as a married couple. Yeah, it's Disney so no sex scene or anything but didn't anyone working on the movie have warning bells? :)

Rantasmo's shirts need more gay! Please do a video about why you wear the Amish beard and regional men's wear farmer shirts. It's fully your own choice but......... these things are unlikely to send powerful gaydar waves to potential BFs.

I watched it tonight (for the first time -as an adult). Oh my.....that was terrible! Ok... Bette Midler singing - you can NEVER go wrong with that - and THAT was worth he price of, well...an evening on the coach. But past that - oh no. I guess I came into the film about 20 some years too late to get on the fan-bus. Never again - thanks.

I know this is an old comment, but I had a similar feeling towards "Labyrinth". It's great whenever Bowie is on screen, but the rest of the bloody thing SCREAMS "movie for children".
