You really should talk about the other prep work that needs to be performed before attempting to install a Sniper EFI setup. You have to make sure your engine (vacuum leaks), charging (sufficient volts generated), exhaust (no leaks, and welded on O2 sensor bung), and ignition systems (resistor plugs, high quality plug wires), are all sorted out before starting a Sniper install. This is a critical prelude.

One thing about the design having the ECU built into the unit is that the heatsoak the aluminum body will exhibit will cause the ECU to break down from thermal breakdown as their other ECU's like the Dominator and TerminatorX cant be near an engines heatsource like headders etc so the design should go through a design change placing the ECU in a remote location...I also think making the throttle body out of composite plastic would of been a better way to go as composite pastic doesnt act like a heatsink like dense billet aluminum does

I would be quite ashamed of how the pre-filter and new fuel pump were mounted. A fault liability if ever I saw it. There was a huge bracket to play with to plan a much neater and safer installation. If this were to be used off-road then there is a major chance of the pump/prefilter combination being ripped off when snagged by a tree branch or such like... and lets not go into the planning of cable runs, no shortening or neatening up, no tidy up of throttle positioning sensor cable, nothing nicely tucked out of the way using p-clamps or the like. A bit of a bish bash bosh job. Glad I think about these things a bit more when building PC's! Greetings from Scotland by the way!

Hi brother. Just a question. Does EFIs just fit exactly (bolt holes, opening diameter, etc) where the carburetor is removed from ANY engine? In other words, are carburetors sizes and mounting standard like house hold mains sockets? I do ask because I have watched a number of videos on how to swap carbs to efi and I have find none that warns on the mounting fittings or adopters or anything of that kind. I want to change my 1991 suzuki vitara carb to efi. hence I have been trying to learn how to. Thanks in advance

I'm not an expert... but I do believe they are standard holes for a 4 barrel carburetor, I would assume if you can fit any carburetor this system should fit... like I said, I'm no expert, but I believe that is correct

A number of things done that were questionable to say the least. #1 is the fuel pump should have been wired into the pump driver wire from the FI unit, this is a safety concern, as fault or failure of the fuel injection system would kill the pump so high pressure fuel isn't sprayed out. #2 is the improper cleaning of the tank of metal shavings, relying on the inline filter to catch injector damaging particles is not a good idea, especially since the tank was down and could have been easily cleaned.#3 is that the start up procedure in the installation directions wasn't completely followed, at least you didn't show all the steps. The final step before starting is to perform a test to make sure all sensors were operating properly, which you didn't say to do or show that you did it. A few other smaller issues also, but those three were most important. And, FYI, the reason for fuel injection hose clamps is that they are smooth so they don't damage the outer hose cover, not for any superior clamping force. The other big thing that I forgot to mention was that you put teflon tape on the fittings in the fuel pump, and they are supposed to be installed DRY and they should have a gasket to seal them!

@freddycjpp3660
@freddycjpp3660 7 жыл бұрын
It's highly recommended the switched 12v be its own source. If you don't have a dedicated wire available you can wire in a relay to a switched circuit. You would wire in the "switch" part of the relay to the switched 12v source, then wire the "power" part of the relay to the battery. Hope that helps!

The Holley guys just got back to me they say its the Injectors Pulsing. And Its Normal. It goes away as I accelerate I will add more Dyna mat. So I dont here it inside the cab as I hear it now I think it is due to the one inch spacer and then I have A 1/2 Inch Air Cleaner Spacer so it sits a little hi but I have A Lot of under hood space on my truck...But yes I am removing they say the Spacer is no longer needed Its those Black Pheno/Plastic Spacers I was having Fuel vapor Lock up before. Also I could not get the Temp past 146 SO I have to add the 180 Temp Thermostat.

Whats difference to the Terminator EFI?
@Zerogivengarage
@Zerogivengarage 7 жыл бұрын
The Sniper uses a non adjustable fuel pressure regulator and the throttle body flows 800 cfm compared to 950 for the Terminator.
@SLAUGHTYBAUDFAUST
@SLAUGHTYBAUDFAUST 7 жыл бұрын
The biggest difference is the terminator uses a separate ECU box which is quite large. The sniper has the ECU built into the throttle body.

If you are not running a drag car or over 1000 hp "that being said because there are kits to make the sniper go up to 1,000 up but out of box it's ready for about 600 to 650 hp" there is no reason for any more then the sniper.

The hose you used is 50psi max,, 60psi fuel pressure. And yes efi hose is different and beware of cheap chinese hose. Or any cheap hose! That externally braided hose used to the throttle body is almost certainly going to fail! As does all the pretty bullshit externally braided hose. EFI pumps should have a relay as well, ideally even 6lb Holley pumps as well. It saves them from failing. The return line really should be a steel pipe, rubber hose should only be used as a joiner and with ethanol blend fuels has about a 2 year life,,,, ask how I know!!
@freddycjpp3660
@freddycjpp3660 7 жыл бұрын
The braided hose we used was very high quality fuel injection hose rated for 350psi, not regular fuel hose. The EFI pump has a relay, it's mounted on the firewall, it was previously installed for the pump that was removed in the video. For the return line we used what Holley recommended and gave us. Thanks for watching.

Gas tanks can be dangerous. There was some gas and lots of fumes in this tank. Drilling metal can cause sparks. The two don't mix well. There are appropriate ways to work on fuel tanks and this is not one of them.

Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. Now they even want to slow down all the gas pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime. Called "Bundesabgasbespaßungsverbotsverordnung" in German.... :-/((
