Mini Live #6 - Reading Product Labels - This video is part of a series of Facebook Live videos I did in which I share quick things I do to make my life a little simpler and a little greener.
There's a lot to learn from reading product labels - from ingredients to certifications - and I wanted to share a bit about what's included on a product label so know what to look for and what that means.
The Environmental Working Group's Skin Deep Database at EWG.org that I mention in the video is an excellent resource for researching products and ingredients.

I just bought a bottle with almond scent, diluted it with water 1:4. The solution cleans my kitchen very well with little efforts. When I finished washing after 15 mins, skin on my fingers feel so dry and turns a bit of powery white. What have I done wrong? Did I dilute it not enough? Indeed I really want to take it on my trips for hand washing clothes and body wash so have one for all purpose. Now I dare not to use it with bare hands, of course won't try on my body. For sureI will wear gloves while using it in the kitchen. Just a bit disappointed.

Hi Suzzane- I wash my hair regularly with the Castile Soap or the Organic Sugar Soap. My son and husband use the bar soap on their short hair. When using soap, the key is to follow up with an acidic rinse. The soap has an alkaline pH which makes our hair kind of tacky/sticky feeling. The acidic rinse smooths everything down. There are two options for an acidic rinse. For my long, thicker hair, I use about 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar (ACV) diluted with another 1/2 cup of water. Or, I dilute a capful of Dr. Bronner’s Organic Citrus Hair Rinse in 1 cup of water and then pour it over my head and work it through and rinse thoroughly. Use less of either dilution if your hair is shorter. We don't recommend our soaps on colored hair though, as the alkalinity of the soap, even though it is only mildly alkaline, causes the hair follicles to open and color can leach out. Here's an article on my website with the ins and outs about washing hair with our Castile Soaps, www.lisabronner.com/from-shampoo-to-soap-my-story/

Does Target refill the bottles?
@GoingGreenwithLisaBronner
@GoingGreenwithLisaBronner Жыл бұрын
Hi DV- Target does not offer refills, but check with a local natural grocer or food co-op. They sometimes have refills and often carry gallon sizes that can be used to refill smaller bottles. As a company, we are working on some refill options, so keep an eye out for more news on that in the future.
