Lisa, this is the third or fourth video of yours I have watched and I have to tell you, I love that they are direct, simple and to the point without an endless chatter, which as an older adult I respect and admire are! 😂 I just moved into a new home and haven't set up everything yet, as I wanted to make my own to 1. save money, but 2. get rid of all the chemicals and dyes and plastics etc that are in the products these days. Thank you for showing me how to use these products - which by the way I all ready have in my home but wasn't sure how to use. 🤪I'll be looking for more of your videos to learn more. 🤩🥰

Hi Tracy- Unfortunately, due to regulatory requirements, we are not actively selling Sal Suds in the UK. At the moment we do not have a timeline for when we will be reintroducing Sal Suds to the market. I’m sorry for any inconvenience. In the meantime, our Castile Liquid Soap can be used for household cleaning purposes. Check out my dilutions Cheat Sheet for dilutions and recipes: bit.ly/CastileDilutions

Can someone please explaine how sodium lauryl sulphate is a non toxic ingredient. I found it in Dr Brenner's laundry SAL SUDS??
@GoingGreenwithLisaBronner
@GoingGreenwithLisaBronner 10 күн бұрын
Hi Helene- It's great that you read ingredient labels so closely and I'm happy dive into Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) which we use in Sal Suds, our household cleaner. My dad, Jim Bronner (Dr. Bronner's youngest child) formulated Sal Suds in 1975 when he was frustrated with how the Castile Soap reacted with the hard water we had in Los Angeles, as any true soap would. SLS has always been the primary surfactant (cleansing component) in Sal Suds because of its keen ability to cut through grease and grime. Usually the concern people have with SLS is that because it is so good at picking up oil and grease, it can pick up oil out of our skin and be drying. This is why I would not use a body care product with SLS in it, even though it is so very common in shampoo and body wash. Studies have consistently shown that SLS is safe to use in low concentrations and in products that are meant to be rinsed off - both of which are true of Sal Suds. At times, people get SLS confused with a similar compound, SLES or Sodium Laureth Sulfate. This "-eth" syllable indicates that the ingredient went through a process called ethoxylation, which produces the carcinogenic byproduct 1,4-Dioxane. Any ethoxylated ingredient can be contaminated with this byproduct and therefore should be avoided. For a deeper dive into SLS, check out my blog post on the topic: bit.ly/SLSInfo

The Smell of Rose Dr. BRONNERS doesn't smelled like Rose and is bad you may have to change the formulation of that scent..
@GoingGreenwithLisaBronner
@GoingGreenwithLisaBronner 10 күн бұрын
Hi there- All our soaps are scented with pure essential oils. Pure rose oil is about $5000 per pound making it cost prohibitive to use exclusively. The scent used for our Rose Castile Soaps is made up of a blend of pure essential oils, like geranium, Rosa damascena (rose) extract, rosemary, grapefruit, and orange, and others. As with all our scents, we do not use synthetic fragrances which can be problematic.

Can this spray also work with indoor house plants? I’ve been trying to get rid of a stubborn infestation of fungus gnats and I feel I’ve tried everything and it’s not working all that great. Also with the garlic, cinnamon and cayenne powders, do you add that to the spray or do you sprinkle it around the soil?
@GoingGreenwithLisaBronner
@GoingGreenwithLisaBronner 10 күн бұрын
Hi there- An insecticidal soap spray made with 1 Tbsp Castile Soap in a quart of water will work against fungus gnats, but it does have to come into contact with them when wet. The challenge is, they are so quick to fly away at the slightest disturbance. Another reader shared that for larger plants she used a stone topdressing and for smaller plants, she had success sprinkling cinnamon on top of the potting mix. I have not tried either of these though. If you give it a go, let me know how it worked out.

What is Sal Suds. I've been into natural products since I was 20 and am 77 and never heard of it.
@GoingGreenwithLisaBronner
@GoingGreenwithLisaBronner 10 күн бұрын
Hi Dawn- Sal Suds is our biodegradable household cleaner developed by my dad, Jim Bronner (Dr. Bronner's youngest child) in 1975 when he was frustrated with how the Castile reacted with the hard water we had in Los Angeles, as any true soap would. So he developed the Sal Suds with its more stable structure that doesn't react with hard water minerals, yet still is a mild cleanser. It's not as widely available as the Castile Soap and usually found in the house cleaning section of natural grocery stores or on our webstore (bit.ly/ShopDRBs). This article on my Going Green website breaks down the difference between both products in detail, bit.ly/WhichOnetoUse.

I used to use simple green for my quartz counters and my dining table but I now switched to Sal suds and made the all purpose cleaner. It keeps leaving streaks! I added more water but still having the issue. Any tips? Do I have to wipe with just water after? Thanks
@GoingGreenwithLisaBronner
@GoingGreenwithLisaBronner 28 күн бұрын
Hi there- It's great to hear you're giving Sal Suds a try, although I'm sorry to hear about the streaks. That's not typical. Make sure you're using 1 Tbsp. Sal Suds in a quart of water. You can fiddle with that dilution a bit and add more water. After spraying, wipe with a damp cloth to rinse. Damp works better than dry because the water is like a magnet to the Sal Suds (or any soap/detergent). At a molecular level, one end of the molecule is attracted to water, while the other end is attracted to dirt. The water in the cloth will pick up the Sal Suds (with the dirt attached to the other end) better. After you wipe with a damp cloth, it’s totally up to you whether you want to dry the surface. If you're still seeing streaks, let me know and we'll do some more trouble-shooting.

Hi Adi- Sal Suds, our household cleaner, is formulated with Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) because of its keen ability to cut through grease and grime and to generate suds. Studies have consistently shown that SLS is safe to use in low concentrations and in products that are meant to be rinsed off - both of which are true of Sal Suds. The main concern with SLS is that it can be a skin irritant for some people because it can be so drying. It is so good at picking up oils that it pulls them right out of our skin! You won’t find SLS in any of our personal care products (Castile Soap, All-One Toothpaste, and so on) and personal care products that do include it should be avoided. @5:01 "...and normally children like the Anise one, because..." I am no child, and I like the Anise flavor. I purchased the 4-pack (consisting of 1 tube, each, of the 4 flavors (now that Spearmint is available)). I tried the Spearmint first, and it was very good. It took a few brushings, to get used to the absence of foam (that I was conditioned, over the decades, to expect). Now I prefer the absence of foam. Next, I tried the Anise flavor. Initially, I preferred the Spearmint. But like a song that does not initially grab you, the Anise flavor grew on me. I now prefer it over the Spearmint flavor. I have yet to try the cinnamon flavor or the peppermint flavor. But I expect that they will both taste good (maybe I will discover a new favorite?). Air pockets: For decades, I was using popular brands found in the supermarket. Without exception (as far as I remember), they all had air pockets. So you are squeezing the tube, and suddenly you lose 25% of what you thought was paste in the tube, because that pocket of air suddenly get released. I have not had any air pockets in my Dr. Bronner's tubes (and I am close to finishing my second tube). So what you see and feel is what you get. No deceptive larger tube, 25% filled with air. Lastly: I do not know if it is my imagination, but my mouth feels cleaner. It took a couple of weeks, and it hit me, that my mouth feels fresher and natural. Cheers!

I have a question...why are the soaps milled first
@GoingGreenwithLisaBronner
@GoingGreenwithLisaBronner Ай бұрын
I'm not sure which stage you're referring to, so let me know if I don't answer your question here. As you saw in the video, bar soap is a two-stage process. In the first stage, we make the bar base, and the final step of that is the base being pushed through a screen and cut into noodles, similarly to the three milling stages that happen later in the bar pressing process. However, in this first stage, the soap is pushed through the screen not to mill it, but to create the noodles which then dry and cure. Later in the second stage, the essential oils are added to these noodles and the soap is milled three times (mixed thoroughly and pushed through the mesh) in order to mix in the essential oils, eliminate air pockets, and create a super smooth, dense, long-lasting bar soap.

Hi there- It sounds like you might have some residual Castile Soap streaking on the windshield. Cleaning with either undiluted club soda or a 1:1 dilution of water and vinegar should dissolve it. To avoid that in the future, use Sal Suds which is slightly more clean rinsing. Let me know how it goes.
