This is a very impressive performance from a strong athlete. It's sad that nearly all of the comments focus on her body and what she's wearing. Why is no one commenting on the fact that she did Grace in 3:18 even HEAVIER than its normally done, or that she can repeatedly clean and jerk a weight that would exhaust a lot of us after a few reps.

She knows what she is doing running around in those little shorts.

I think what she's wearing, and what most crossfit women wear, is freakin badass!! It wasn't long ago that a woman could never go shirtless in public. Now they can take their shirts off whenever the guys do, and they can then proceed to lift more than a lot of guys could lift. It's like walking into a gym is their first statement, taking their shirts off is their second, and lifting like a beast is their third. Never has what women wear made such a strong statement about demonstrable, tangible (not metaphorical) power!!

I think she would really benefit from working on her technique. She's already got the engine and the strength but if she would work on that clean technique (weird pause at the knee)and a straight back in the first pull etc she would really be unbeatable...

For all of you saying she has "weird clean form" - pretty sure the hitch or pause you're referring to is her basically doing a hang clean. It might be her preferred method of cleaning over a full clean from the floor. As long as it comes from the floor every rep, I don't think it matters whether you do a full power clean or a hang power clean.
@saitpmr8 жыл бұрын
Yea but she is not fully extending at the end so those are no reps if the "Grace" is 30 clean n jerks...

Really good really cool! But how can this technique be the most effective when it's not an optimal technique for weightlifting? I mean the pause on her legs and then the pull. serieus question.. I always try to perform the everything I do with the best technique.. am I doing it wrong?

+David Chrapla It's just going to be easier letting go of the man pride and accept that being a women doesn't limit how strong a person can be, and there will just be ladies who are stronger than you. Do give the workout a try though, and don't let it discourage you or let it beat you down to quitting. Good luck man.

All these "coaches" on here talking about form. First, when you lift really heavy weights the form goes out the window. Brett Contreras talks about this. Second, when fatigue starts to set in, EVERYONE breaks down on their technique. Joel Jameson talks about this. Now her coach should take a look and try to help her keep her form longer, but saying she has bad technique is idiotic.

That hitch in the clean is still common in crossfit. its not hard to fix the issue. Especially the girls i can name a ton of top level athletes that still have shit form its not as if they are doing the sport everyfuckingday
@aarond99018 жыл бұрын
I agree, I see that hitch quite a bit. Genuine question here, because I've got a feeling you're not a keyboard warrior. What is the easy fix that you personally go with? I've found a lot of different ways of trying to fix it, but I'm still not satisfied with my approach.

Crossfitters like to mix different sports. Why not MMA too? If she trained a half hour a day for like six months maybe she could beat the best girls in the UFC. I wonder how a trained Brooke Wells would do against Bruce Lee. He squated three sets of ten reps of 95 lbs taking his time for his workout but she it putting 60 lbs more than that over her head 30X in 3:18. Steven Crowder estimated his max squat to be around what she is putting up here, so maybe he couldn't even do one rep of this. He was 124 lbs when he died and she is 150 and around the same height. I don't see how he would be able to keep her from pummeling him within a minute if they were stuck in a cage together if she's that much stronger than him. Especially if she had a helmet on to protect her from his precision striking. Her muscles would act at pads from his body blows. There is a video of a muscle girl thrashing a boxer just because she's stronger. Could this girl take Bruce Lee if she practiced MMA a little?
@jimrix75608 жыл бұрын
she's losing half the work by dropping the bar after each rep.
@neversaw8 жыл бұрын
It has to go back to the ground and at a weight that heavy for that many reps it's safer to drop also it saves energy rather than having to take the steps to put it back down.
@Douglas-oo5zd8 жыл бұрын
i take it youve never put heavy weight over your head for alot of reps.
@jimrix75608 жыл бұрын
+neversaw of course it saves energy to drop rather than to control the weight back to the ground. That's my point--she's losing out on a substantial amount of the work by dropping.
@jimrix75608 жыл бұрын
+Serron Roberts CF is about functional exercise, and dropping the weight is not functional. If she (or anyone else) can't control the weight, then by all means drop. But this isn't a 1RM type of exercise. I suspect she can control the weight back down, but chose not to to conserve energy and put up the fastest time possible.
@Douglas-oo5zd8 жыл бұрын
+Jim Rix wow.....it's crazy how people dont realize that these are pro athletes, competing in a professional sport. her goal is to get a fast time or good score in whatever event she is competing in. her goal is to be strategic and pace...sorta like what a pro distance runner would do. so please quit comparing these elite crossfit athletes to your average person lifting weights in golds gym
