My son was like 13. We're riding in the car. This song comes on. I changed the channel. My son was like, 'Dad! That's a great song!' I said, 'Yeah, but I've heard it 3,000 times.' I put it back on. He rocked out. You forget what it was like when this was fresh.

I became sick of Stairway to Heaven during the 70's because it was so ridiculously overplayed on the radio, to the point where I almost never wanted to hear it again lol. I swear you couldn't go a half-hour listening to any rock station then without hearing it come on. But its just too good of a song to stay mad at forever.

It's overplayed because it's a song which no other band can't ever top it! It's my favorite song of all time! There is a cover song by Heart which is really good! They did this song justice. Check it out! Zeppelin rules! Rock on!✌❤🎶

Back in Ct. the radio station I listened to would do a count down of the top 100 songs as voted on by the listeners. This song took the #1 spot 10 years in a row.

This song is pure art. They didn't know it when they wrote it, that this song would be such a historical phenomenon and would influence the world of music forever. In 500 years people will look back to the 20th century and this song will be one of the main focuses.

Nice channel. Good to see young guys opening up their horizons to something outside the comfort zone. There's so much good music out there from the 60's, '70's and '80's. If you dive into the '60's do NOT bypass MoTown music, Sam Cooke, Smoky Robinson, Richie Havens, The Temptations, The Four Tops, The Spinners, The Supremes to name a few.

The intro to this song came from a band called SPIRIT. When they toured the UK, Led Zep saw them and asked if they could use it on this song. Spirit said "We would be honored". The rest is history!!

Love how you guys left the car, lol! Led Zeppelin: Making people get out of their cars to compose themselves since 1969... Cool reaction to a timeless song. Y'all might not dig just how BIG this song is in the rock community. It consistently nabs the top or one of the top 3 or 5 positions in any given "Greatest rock song ever" type of list. It's what you call an "anthem." It's almost a cliche in some weird way. Robert Plant ended up not wanting to sing this in concert, I THINK because it sort of became an obligation or something. Don't listen to me. Listen to the song again. And again. Those of us who have heard this masterpiece countless times sometimes get a new perspective on it by imagining we're hearing it for the first time. Like you guys just so wonderfully did!

I saw Led Zeppelin in concert in 1968 and 1969. I am about the same age as the singer Robert Plant. The song that was most amazing live was Dazed and Confused. You can see a great live version from their 1973 concert at Madison Square Garden. You can easily find a video of this on You Tube

Y'all need to listen to Heart's live rendition of this song. Led Zeppelin was honored at The Kennedy Center Honors, and Heart played this song (which takes BALLS to play in front of Zepplin, but those ladies slayed it). John Bonam's son, Jason, played drums for the performance, wearing his father's signature bowler hat. The three surviving members of Led Zep, John Paul Jones (bass), Jimmy Paige (guitar), and Robert Plant (vocals) were blown away. Robert Plant HATES when people cover that song, he says they always butcher it. But he was in tears by the end of Heart's performance. Life changing, you need to see it.

The last two minutes are like Beethoven. Just an incredible climax of symphonies and feeling. Heard it 1000 times and I still listened for the first time with you. The drums are incredible, down to just that little snare quad (I think) at the beginning of the measure that kind of surprises you each time. There had been a lot of technical musicianship put into music before this came out, lots of prog and art jazz and what not, but this was the pinnacle of composition that still had rock and roll at its heart. Still a masterpiece.

Stairway is definitely the song that should be your first, (but certainly not your last), live Led Zeppelin song. Most who see it say it is the greatest live performance they have ever seen....As you go down this journey you'll realize how great this band really is. As a suggestion another song that is often overlooked, but definitely one of their greatest masterpieces is a song called 'How Many More Times' on their first album. Listen to the studio or album version first before you listen to it live. I recommend you make it your next reaction. It's one of their best songs to show off all of the talent of everyone in the band in one song as well as being a roller coaster ride of a song and one funky ass tune. It definitely will take you on a joyride.

July 4, 1979: I’m 15, local station, KRTH (K-EARTH 101) in Los Angeles has their annual “Firecracker 300”. The top 300 songs of all time. I record a song here and there. They finally finish with #2 and go to commercial. I set up my stereo cassette recorder to record. I had NEVER heard of Led Zeppelin or “Stairway to Heaven” and it starts. I’m alone in my living room and recline all the way back on the recliner ready for a trip I somehow (like you) knew I was going on. And so it builds with acoustic guitar, organ, whispering vocals intro drums, then suddenly, thundering drums and lighting guitars, the whaling vocals, the wind-down and a whisper. I was EXHAUSTED and a LedHead forever. I had tickets on September 25, 1980 when John Bonham died. Watch “No Quarter” - LIVE at MSG 1973. GET HEADPHONES!!

There's a reason this is considered one of the greatest songs of the rock era. Two others: The Beach Boys' "Good Vibrations" and Yes' "Roundabout." Not many other songs of that caliber.

When I was in College the School radio station would play this at 4:30 on Fridays after Classes and the students in the huge Quad would crank their Stereos with the Big -Ass Speakers in the Windows! Epic!

The last track played every Friday and Saturday night at the Dark House, The Borough, last orders called, new pint in hand, speakers in the ceiling, here it comes, ear splitting, bass through the chest, head bangers going mad, standing outside when the tracks done, leather jackets, cut offs, long hair, white converse boots, finishing ya pint and Fish n Chips from next door and a staggered walk home in the rain, smiling the biggest smile, humming a few bars, all round a mates gaff, bottle of Newkey Brown (dog). The live 1973 MSG version is a must after this, before you listen to Heart's 2007 tribute. You have to hear them do it live before any other live versions, IMO.

Or better yet, Hearts tribute at the Kennedy Center. 2012. Not only were the surviving members of Led Zeppelin in the audience, but the Obama's as well! To top that off, John Bonham's son was playing drums that night.

If you're going to react to the live version of this, please do the one from Madison Square Garden first before doing any others - the guitar solo alone is a master class in musicianship and skill. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/rsiYdrOlm7a-eYk.html This song was intentionally created to begin slowly and speed up until it reached the end. John Paul Jones played wooden recorders at the beginning and an electric piano. He would play a Mellotron (an early synthesizer) in concert. The lyrics are a bit ambiguous, allowing for the listener to discern their own meaning. That iconic guitar solo was the best out of three takes. It is considered one of the best, if not THE best rock song ever. Glad you're enjoying your Zep journey so far!

Hey glad your back! So a few more Zep tunes,How many more Times,Bring it on Home and Nobody's Fault. Then time to check out some other bands like Pink Floyd,Rush,Black Sabbath and Deep Purple. Definitely listen to the studio versions first before the live versions.Hit me up and I will give you songs for each band. Later guys.

Another great reaction! You guy's are so enthusiastic about their music, it's just awesome to see other people enjoy it the same as other Led-Zeppelin fans do. I recommend reacting to 'The Crunge' and 'Over the hills and far away' from their houses of the holy album.

Another good thing about these Led Zeppelin reactions is that I’m pretty sure it will lead you to start doing Pink Floyd reactions too!! Insanely creative music that you’ll literally lose yourself in. Personally I’d start with Time, Us and Them, Brain Damage/Eclipse, or Comfortably Numb. Headphones and studio versions are best
