Love my 2016 340i rwd. Made before they threw the M in front. Stage 2 tune along with xhp transmission flash. My B58 has ran several S55 M cars. Of course the m cars are better handling. Great video this shows the new M340i continues to be an amazing car and tons of potential for tuners and luxury for anyone wanting a great every day sedan. Trunk space has to be best in class also

You're right it does come with a 48 volt hybrid system, that basically just helps with the turbos and providing some quicker power I believe.

Oh cool! Seems seem pretty good on gas tho. Same engine in my Supra and I can easily get 26 average. And I'm tuned

That is what really stood out to me on this new 2 series. It really felt like a solid BMW. Other luxury brands that have entry level cars feel so cheap. The Mercedes A class feels like a Corolla. SO it's nice that BMW made this such a nice car to drive while being their entry level car.

Europe also gets the M340d xDrive, currently the fastest diesel car on the market, with a 0-100 time of 4.6 seconds. The touring does it in 4.8 seconds. The Germans managed to extract 335bhp in that thing.

Got mine 2 weeks ago in triple black. Love everything about it except there is no way to disable the auto on/off feature in comfort mode. It's annoying when the engine shuts off at every traffic light or stop sign! The only way around it is to drive it in sport mode.

I just included that into the total horsepower, but it does have that system, doesn't help too much but it's still nice to have in the car.

@@UmairActorModel I just bought a 2021 about a month ago. It seemed to me that red and even a blue interior are reserved for other markets. Canada has a special edition version with a blue interior. I’m not sure why they don’t bring at least the red interior here.

@@UmairActorModel I would have totally purchased that Special Edition that they have in Canada. Not sure why they think Americans wouldn't like it and give us the beige or black only for interior colors. I got an inbound Portimao Blue car with the Shadowline Back package (came in about a week after I was at the dealership). As for how I like it. I almost didn't buy another after I returned my 2018 340xi Msport lease. In fact, if the Golf R or S3 were still in production, I may have bought one of those (I had multiple GTIs). In fact, I thought my wife's 2020 Acura RDX ASpec (other than the engine) was a better vehicle than the 2018 340xi Msport. When I went to my BMW dealership (which I really like and I am in the NYC area, which means many BMW dealerships and competitive pricing), I specifically went to look at a 235 GC (remember I was thinking Golf R). However, they had none as loaded as I wanted and the loaded ones start to get into M340 territory. Since I was buying this one for my business tax purposes, I had a brain fart halfway through the process. I said for resale, who will want a M235 GC except weirdos like me, and I shifted gears to the M340. I'm glad I did. I really enjoy the car. It's 50% better than the old one. My old one had the adaptive dampers, the new one does not. The fixed Msport dampers remind me of my GTIs of the past that I had. They are tuned almost perfectly for the intended mission and it's less fussing around (I was concerned about that, but so far so good). I took it up and down the Taconic Parkway this week and the car feels much smaller than it really is because its much more precise than the old car. In addition, I found one of the biggest benefit of the mild hybrid system. The car will regenerate so much power going downhill that you do not need to apply brakes or even downshift down steep hills anymore. As I say to my wife, this is a "real car" now. The old one was disappointing to say the least. I bought it based on the deal and service / dealership. I told myself I would not do that this time. Because of this I test drove the 235 GC (really reminded my of the GTIs / Golf R, except the transmission was not quite as good, though the BMW has better tech and a better dealership experience), the M440 (not much of discernible difference between the M340 on a street -- if at all -- truthfully, I couldn't tell a difference on the street -- plus you deal with the grills and two less seats), and a leftover 2020 M4 Competition CS (raw power, DCT, sticky tires but NO all weather capability as equipped and because it is the old chassis and the ZF transmission is so good for slush box automatic and new chassis is so much better, believe it or not -- from an engagement standpoint on the street, IMO, it's not that much different).

Yes it did. Forgot to mention that. But you really don't notice anything while driving. Car just feels normal with a smooth power delivery

Yeah I noticed that. Same thing with the 2021 Supra vs 2020 Supra. This new engine lost all the drama. But I'm sure with a good tune and upgraded exhaust they'll come back

Does anyone know of any Aftermarket Laptop Mounts for this vehicle? I often find myself working from my Vehicle (travel quite a bit). And when I'm stopped somewhere typing something up I've been using a crappy steering wheel mounted Laptop "Stand". It makes it impossible to multitask when you pretty much have it sitting in your lap. Looking at purchasing in the next few months and really don't want to go back to the sad days of yesteryear lol.

Having the 2020 M340i; was there a difference with the 2021 that has the mild hybrid 48v? Didn’t see it on your review...

I don't think there is any difference with the 2020 M340i and 2021 M340i. I'm not too sure about any hybrid system

@@BrosFOURRSpeed I was looking at an S5 Sportback as well, Any reason you would take the S3? RS3 is pretty nice too for its price. 0-60 in 3.6 seconds for 56k, but its too outdated for my taste.

@@Vat19isveryawesome I mentioned S3 because its a cheaper version of the RS3. RS3 seems more in between the M340i and M3. The RS5 Sportback would be the sedan I'd buy. Love the Audi stying and I think that gets everything needed for a good price.

I haven't really nailed the gas yet due to breaking it in for 1000 miles..almost there..I can tell in just normal semi spirited driving that low end torque seems a little less..like you mentioned in your 2021 supra review (same engine variant). Looking forward to giving it the full beans so I can feel the upper rpm power and that 3832hp

As long as you lease. You'll lose tremendous amount of money on depreciation when you decide to sell it. This excludes high cost of maintenance too.

I own a Q50 3.0t as well and i couldn’t agree with you more! The engine is fantastic for infiniti’s first shot at forced induction, but the tech isn’t there like the transmission and all around comfort features

You'll have to run a deal with the dealership to see. But assuming you agree on the MSRP of the car you're looking at. Maybe add $2,500 with tax, tag, fees.

Very difference cars for sure. Do you need the backseat room? If you don't need all that space, mustang for sure, but drive both if you can to see which one you like best.

My 2020 is much better sounding. The 2021 is now a hybrid engine, not many crackels and pops in the exhaust.

I found these used for 20K. But my next car will probably be a Tesla. The sad thing is that Elan keeps making them better. The standard Model S is 69 Grand now. And I believe it's under 4 second 0-60 time with a maximum 400-mile range. Supposedly the new model S will be here probably in less than a year. I would imagine it's going to have the same price if not lower by then. They have already introduced the new fast charging. And they're going to introduce a new battery which will lower the weight of the car. The problem I've had with them all else is the size and the weight. I wish it was 4200 lbs or less and no more than 195 in Long. I worry about fitting in my garage and driving narrow streets. I have an Infiniti G37S

What exactly is your question? lol. I am a big fan of the M2 Comp and M4 Comp. I'd love an M2 one day with a manual. But I have the GTR as my vehicle with back seats. So it'd be a bit redundant to have another 4 seat 2 door car. Thats why I like my second car with 2 seats

Not sure why they toned down the sounds so much for 2021. All the European cars got quiet for 2021. Bummer. But tuning and a new exhaust can help

Every car is not going to be 100% perfect, but I'm just doing a detailed review of the specs and options. It's not my place to say what's good or bad with the car. I don't own it so I wouldn't know. It takes some time owning a car and driving it to find what you don't really like about it. So spending a few hours with the car, can't really say anything on it.

Been a a fan of the M340 since Day 1. No cap. But this one, with all those options added, and by all those I mean every single one, too much. $65K THOUGH!?! If you're spending THAT type of money, just buy the M3? Just go with the F80. Love the car but personal opinion if someone spends $65k on a 3 Series M-Car, and doesn't get an M3 and gets an M340, they've just made a ridiculous decision... That car will be worth it once it's hits the second hand market and depreciates a bit. Hahahaha Beautiful car though. Love it.

I would definitely agree with you there! Some people don't want that performance of the M3 though, I'd go for that all day over this! But I guess people are buying them, but second hand would be a great deal on any BMW!

@@BrosFOURRSpeed yeah once you can pick one of these up fully optioned like this one for a cool $30k, it'll be worth it. I bought my E90 335 M-Pack (TT Era N54, so technically a 2009.5) for $9k with high miles but fully loaded off the lot. I feel like in 2-3 years you'll probably be able to find a solid example of one of these with 65-80k miles for around $25k, which would be a STEAL if it was a fully optioned one as this one is. Still haven't even been able to reach my goal of an M3. I'm hoping either my next car, after the 35 is paid off, if not, hopefully the car after that. I'm too obsessed with the exhaust note of the F80, and I need to wake up and hear it every morning or my life will never be complete.
