If you look behind Shane at Daryl when he talks about Otis you can see by Daryl’s look he doesn’t believe a word Shane is saying.

When I watch the scene where Daryl gives Carol the flower and tells her the story about the Cherokee Rose I always tear up He is a great character I love how he is written He seems so tough but is really a sweet guy He was already a survivor before all this happened and he’s just trying to find his place within the group He’s always been with his brother who was the leader making bad choices for them both.

The Cherokee Rose scene with Daryl and Carol remains one of my top favorite scenes in the entire series. Here's a little behind-the-scenes tidbit Robert Kirkman shared about it: "I was actually on set during the filming of that," stated Kirkman. "Almost every actor in the cast showed up, because they absolutely loved that scene and they wanted to see Melissa and Norman’s portrayal of it as it unfolded." ❤ I also loved that Carl understood why Rick lied to him about Sophia. You know Rick was dreading that conversation, but Lori spared him that burden and Carl was unusually mature in his response.

You gotta remember that sacrificing Otis was plan B. Shane was gonna try the hero route but Otis was to good of a man to let him stay behind.

The cool thing about Daryl is he’s not even in the comics so he’s always been this wild card that the fans of the comics could never predict One of my favourite characters on the show.

The Punisher is great, my personal favourite of the netflix marvel.

I’m a firm believer that Shane wouldn’t have survived long after the farm. This show is about karma. Things coming full circle. When Rick and Co. eventually are faced with the decision to care for new people, things go bad when they refuse. There are signs. Events that prove as much. And this would have been no different for Shane. He fights for the whopping two people he loves, yes, but that would’ve only gotten him so far. People working together is how Rick and Co. formed. How you survive. Shane would’ve had no one. He would’ve gotten everyone killed, and then Lori, Carl, and Judith eventually. (I see you’re in the prison era so I know this won’t be spoiling anything). Unpopular opinion, but Shane was weak. He allowed emotion to rule his judgment at all times, and as Lori tells him, uses “making the hard choice to survive” as an excuse to do what’s easy. Aka sacrificing people. Like Otis. Major difference between leaving people behind when you have no choice, and doing what’s easy because it ensures you survive.
