I only learned about this machine today. Me want! I am hoping to get myself an industrial lockstitch machine for most of my work, but not until I move, due to my space and movement restrictions. This thing looks like it would cover 99% of what I would be looking at doing with the lockstick. If standed industrial bobbins and feet fit this thing, that would change everything.

My bestfriend and I both bought this machine last year. She is a quilter and I am a seamstress. I own a Bernina B560 but I have to tell you. This machine is serious.. goes through denim like butter. If it ever died I would buy another. Not expensive at all compared to Bernina or Pfaff.

Good to know. Thank you. I am a budding seamstress who sews for myself now. I think this machine is the equivalent of the Juki TL2000q series. It reminds me of that. I am a Brother and Janome gal (with my domestics).

I bought this machine from you a couple of months ago to put on the QZone Hoop Frame, which I also bought from you. It is a solid machine. I also bought the grace sure stitch regulator. Learning to use the equipment as a quilting system was challenging but I have worked though most problems (many of which were user error). I have one problem that I have not been able to resolve. I get skipped stitches occasionally. Is this another user error or is there an adjustment I need to make, either in the setup or something else? I would appreciate your input to help get this problem resolved. Thanks.

I really feel these type of machines should include a double needle for a single stitch type. And how is a speed control / start stop button is like an almost double the price option ? For large quilting and large throat workspace I've found you can either get this type of machine for 550-1100, or you can have to get one that costs 3000-5000 on up to tens of thousands with Bernina and you get a combination of a regular sewing machine with a couple hundred stitches you really never use and a large throat space. Thats alot of money for the ability to use a few more stitch types you want from a smaller sewing machine with a larger working area. But stitches on this type of machine are better because of the lack of movement left to right. I guess really the only option is to have two machines, or if you have the money get one that is as much as a used ( or new for Bernina) car. With the repair costs of a car. Too bad its hard to trust buying a used machine from someone since you can almost guarantee will need to be serviced (costing hundreds perhaps) to get the issues worked out from them. You'd think that after over a hundred years of development they would not be unreliable. But if they were reliable (like the old heavy duty all steel machines of old) they would put themselves out of business I guess. Thats the consumer throw away economy we all live in I suppose.

I bought my machine from you a few months ago. I love this machine, except when i use the thread cutter the top thread always comes out and i have to re thread. Can you tell me what I am doing wrong?
@caldowning5 жыл бұрын
Loretta Lalumondier hey, this happens to me sometimes when I’m trying to be quick and I start to lift the foot before the cutter is completely finished. Also when you’re passing the thread through the tension disks you can sort of feel it ‘ping’ into place. If I’m rushing sometimes I don’t complete that properly and I find it comes unthreaded when I use the cutter. Hope that helps! I love the cutter!
@lorettalalumondier89575 жыл бұрын
@@caldowning mine cuts so short that the thread strand comes out of the needle.
@nora220003 жыл бұрын
@@lorettalalumondier8957 Seems like lightweight thread...for that, put the through only one of the three holes in the guide, start with the needle down and press the cut button. Pull the lever up with the knee lift and slide the project out firmly to the right or left. There will be 1 to 1.5 inches of thread trailing from the needle, just fine.

I bought this machine to put on a Grace Hoop frame. After significant time setting up the frame, I was excited to try the quilting process. I stitched a row that looked good on the top but the bottom tension was way wrong. There was a huge amount of loose thread. I took the sewing machine off the frame to try to get the tension adjusted properly. I have been trying for hours to get it set correctly. I have adjusted the tension on the machine as well as on the bobbin. Adjusting the bobbin tension is very tedious and confusing. The pictures in the instruction booklet are not helpful and quite confusing. The thread breaks after just a couple of stitches. This has happened about 20 times. I have checked and rechecked the treading and seem to have that correct. I am sure I am doing something wrong, but after hours and hours of diligently trying, I am weary of the process. I am confident this is user error but the instructions in the book are so poor I have been unable to identify my error.

@homesteader fifty w/ ricky & martha Responding 2 years later is not effective. I still love the machine but gave up using it on a quilting frame and moved on to a longarm machine on a 10 foot frame. I use the Brother 1500 for piecing. It works well for that.

I've been using my friend's Brother 1500 and I can't figure out how to use the quilting channel guide with the walking foot. I can't justify buying it if I can't figure out how to use the feet. I hope you'll show how to use the feet because it would really help my business if I can understand how to use the feet. I hope to buy it in 2017/Jan 2018 from Ken's.

@starsunderer5 жыл бұрын
Brother, Juki, Babylock, and Janome all "make" a similar version of this machine with slight differences on them. Brothers' difference is it's the cheapest, then Juki is the next cheapest. They are all made in China, Taiwan, or some other low wage country now a days it seems. I wanted a Japanese made one, but even they are no longer made in Japan, just Japan owned companies with typical construction you can expect from China and eventual repair issues. And really it seems most companies are moving there for cost cutting. Too bad, so sad. If you want quality get a used one from years past, like before 2000, but not so old and an unusual a model or brand you can't find parts.
@RonsonDalby5 жыл бұрын
@@starsunderer I have a Juki 2200QVP Mini and love it. The weight thanks to the all-metal body gives great stability. Either they're all made by the one company or one company must hold the patent and licence it out. I would bet on Juki as they make so many machines for other brands including Bernina. My Juki dealer and mechanic says most sewing machines these days except for the top of the line Bernina are all made in the same 3 or 4 Asian factories these days.
