True true. I have a tikka 270wsm love the caliber. I don’t reload but I’ve been shooting the hornady precision hunter 145gr eld-x getting 0.66” group at 200yds. And they’re not terribly expensive at $34 a box

That federal ammo shoots a soft lead bullet that is more likely to expand and fragment than a bonded bullet like the accubond.

I have the Browning B.A.R. MK 3 DBM on layaway. What’s the best ammo for it? It’s obviously a Winchester 308, but will any Winchester 308 be ok for the rifle? I don’t hunt, it’s more for the gun range.

I bought the same rifle (MK3, 300wsm) in the hell's canyon edition. What grouping are you getting with it?
@paparomesoutdoors7112 жыл бұрын
I’ve used two different Winchester and some federal and both grouped great. I sight in at 100 yds and can touch bullets. I have not done any long range shots yet with it but in this video I shot a buck at 250 yards free arm running and nearly touched holes in the vitals. Thus far I’m extremely pleased with this rifle as far as feel, comfort, accuracy and grip. @paparomesoutdoors7114 жыл бұрын
Bobby Golden honestly it’s what your comfortable with, some ppl can’t keep them clean and they may jam more often, others prefer the reliability of a bolt I shoot all actions comfortably but I love my Pump action rifles never let me down and I can shoot as fast as a semi

Sore Lip City yea that was big part for me as well but being this was the only one I could find anywhere it seemed to be sold out or out of stock nation wide in this caliber I took it. I read somewhere you can get a drop out mag set up for it, but after using it and realizing how fast the reload is I’m ok with it the way it is thanks for watching
@jackburton3075 жыл бұрын
I'm looking at buying this exact same gun (300 wsm, as well)! They really need to have interchangeable mags like their x-bolt stainless talker. Doesn't make sense why it is attached. And having it in stainless would be amazing too.
@heathplunkett98435 жыл бұрын
You can remove the mag it snaps off of the floor plate and snaps back on.
@catjackoff-road8554 жыл бұрын
Sore Lip City the mag does come out I own one in 270 wsm all ya need to do is pull the back or the mag and it comes out of the Door to put it back in you simply put the front in the notch and push the back down and it attaches back to the mag door or hinge

@catjackoff-road8554 жыл бұрын
Bradley Thompkins semi auto is your best bet for low recoil the glasses are used to push the bolt back. I own both a 30-06 weatherby bolt action, and a browning bar 270 win short mag, and the recoils are both identical. Using 163 grain nosler in the 06 and 140 nosler trophy grade in the 270 wsm. Hope this helps

If you had no plans of hunting anything other than Deer and Bear and looking for a new rifle would you go with a 30-06?
@paparomesoutdoors7114 жыл бұрын
Ive had many calibers over the years and many work really well, but in my opinion for the regions I hunt Yes I think 30-06 is better than most mainly for two reasons, 1 is larger bear it will have extra power to penetrate and 2 its a common load found in every sport shop all around.
