Another great review...I had the carbon and the grade 3 and strangely enough found I was more consistent with the carbon???? Maybe an ergonomics thing? However, having owned a couple of Benellis and Cracking little Franchi affinity, found the inertia system to be much more reliable and cleaner :)

Just watched this video Lloyd as I have Maxus Black Gold. I tried the Ultimate Partridge (with 28" barrel) but preferred the finish of the Black gold. Before I tried it, I had planned to get the Black Gold with the 26" barrel, as my other guns are 28" Game guns. (Every other semi I had tried felt like swinging a clothes prop!) The 28" was a revelation. It handles like a 28' S/B/S or O/U, even though it has such a long action! Stripping and cleaning is an absolute breeze, as I clean my gun after every use. It cycles 24gm to 3" mags faultlessly. (Just bang 25/50 3" mags through it when you first get it!) It is expensive, but it's worth it in my view. Good job matey!

I’ve seen many of your videos and appreciate them. You’ve reviewed several of my o/u shotguns and now the Maxus. I own the Duck Blind version, purposely bought for Canada goose and duck hunting. I’ve owned it for 6 years but rarely shoot it since I can’t hit the broader side of a barn with it. Why I don’t know but I do know my 725 Field limits me out if the birds are flying. Why I haven’t sold off the Maxus I don’t know, it’s basically a wall hanger now.

Did you own a beretta or benelli before the Browning

@rudyelizondo19352 жыл бұрын
Sounds like you need to get it fitted to you. The 725 looks like it is greatly fitted to you. You need to hunt with it also, I own a beretta 686 and it fits me perfect. I also duck hunt and goose hunt with it and do really good.

I have a Maxus for pigeon shooting, with the factory stock dimensions it was very dificult to hit in something with this gun, higher shim (number 1 or 1R) raise the stock only a little bit. To not sell the gun, installed an adjustable comb and raised the comb 7mm, now I can hit easily/naturaly and without effort. For a lot of shooters the Maxus stock is to thin and to low. With a low comb like the one find on a Maxus, is very dificult to shoot well with it for a lot of people. Nice review.

I was on the fence between the raffaello and the maxus when I was in the market for a S/A a few years ago. Decided on the maxus as (for me) there wasn't enough difference in them to justify almost 2x the price with the raffaello. Traded in the maxus a couple of years ago for a 690 and always regretted trading it in as I absolutely loved it. Almost certainly going to get one back in the future, tempted by the A-TACS AU variant.
@lloydyp3 жыл бұрын
Did you get another one by any chance?
@samhealey76033 жыл бұрын
@@lloydyp not yet with lockdown and moving house I’ve had absolutely no time to shoot, but honestly still think about my old Maxus regularly and probably still will in the future... I ended up buying a 525 sporter with adj comb and a trap fore end. Yours and Johnny Carter’s reviews you did on it an age ago actually convinced me into it, fits so much better than the 690. I much prefer the extra bulk that comes with the browning.

Does it take invector or invector plus chokes?
@lloydyp5 жыл бұрын
Invector I believe.
@nmhvactech54745 жыл бұрын
They use the Invector Plus chokes. There are Almost No current production guns from Browning / Winchester that use the standard invector choke system anymore.
