It is the week of the Leeds World Triathlon Series. This week, we compete to make the best smoothie and talk about the race. Al is returning to race in Leeds after missing last years race and Jonny hopes to improve on his race in Bermuda. We use fresh fruit from Aldi and the smoothie maker from the middle aisle. Who will win the smoothie challenge?

Love the bond between the two of you when Alistair dragged Jonny over the line and it cost you a gold medal your both my sports idols. Even though neither of you got a medal today your both still really good triathletes keep doing what your doing because you inspire a lot of people 👍🏻

I make a lot of smoothies, with most of my ingredients from #aldi my suggestion .... Replace the milk with soya or almond milk as it is healthier, start with bananas first, 3 in a 750ml container and blend with around 150 to 200ml of soya milk for 5 secs to create your base. Now add large tablespoon of chia seeds and a handful of walnuts and Brazil nuts, leaving plenty of space. Should only be around 60% full. Blend for around 10 secs to create some room. For fruit, use aldi's frozen forest fruits and pack pretty much to the top. Brb my dog just farted ...... Ok so blend the mix for about 20 seconds or so as this will create space in the container. Add 1 teaspoon of dark cocoa powder, red container in Aldi, usually by the baking goods, raisins, flour etc and 1 teaspoon of beetroot powder which really helps with getting oxygen through the blood. If this is very liquidy, add a spoonful or 2 of porridge oats, although not a good idea for race day. More chia seeds would be better. A 750ml to 1l serving of this is quite filling, but it also digests very quickly.
