The truth is stranger than fiction it’s obvious and just plain common sense…Bruce lee was not good as some people think fact….Hollywood made him look amazing it’s obvious, but that’s ok it’s fakewood aka Hollywood…..there where many none famous elders and extraordinary and extremely fast martial artist(that trained him)but don’t need the lime light to prove to nobody egos…..but Bruce ego got the best of him and he payed the price of life sold his soul they told him, be careful your ego is to easy to poison by white mans potion, and he did not not listen to his elders be humble that he did not have period…but he knew it but still went forward without their blessings and omens and bad spirits and universe of spirit and karma….research no do go deep into rabbit hole 🕳 you may not like what you see or hear…..

Steve McQueen was a former Marine USMC. He was stationed at 29 Palms as a tanker. There's a reason he's tough. He also was one of Bruce Lee's students along with Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. There was a lot of love between Bruce and Steve McQueen as well as respect.

@@binaryflatbecause the regular lifestyle in Marines is tough, even the guys or ladies who might not have a combat job , still train to be Marksman , still have regular basic combat skills in the Marine Martial Art Program, tested often and the regular Unit physical training also is made up of combatives and other grueling conditioning. During McQueen's time ,it was even more grueling, Boxing and Judo were the main combatives taught in the Marine Corps during that time.

@@reggiespear7455 There you have the evidence. People have mentioned to me that Steve Mcqueen beat Bruce Lee in a real fight outright. Saying the very same thing that Steve Mcqueen was such a tough brawler for real. And I'm thinking....Steve Mcqueen wasn't trained in self defence. Bruce Lee was extremely well trained in self defence and Bruce Lee was a very hard man also. Bruce Lee was a brawler himself also So it's no wonder Steve Mcqueen could never win. And I've tried correcting these guys. Bruce Lee would simply telegraph any punch or kick. You can be an extremely born natural hard man like Steve Mcqueen. But Bruce Lee was simply everything in that department himself. Has anyone ever said Bruce Lee was a very hard man.?? No they haven't. Bruce Lee was that and everything else with it.

I studied Wing Chun in William Chueng's system, who claimed to have been one of the senior teachers under Yip Man. (Yip didn't always teach). He claimed to teach some stuff to Bruce. William came to my city for a seminar. Questions were asked. I asked him: "Out of all the fighting styles, besides Wing Chun, what poses the biggest challenge?" Without hesitation he said: "American style boxing." Because... he said boxers can take many hits without consequence thanks to their conditioning. He also said the defense of a boxer is really hard to penetrate. The fact that McQueen took shots without a problem is no surprise, especially being a brawler. The proof is clearly in modern MMA. Strikers don't win as much as grapplers. It's a shame Bruce left us too soon. No question he would have continued to evolve into a grappler. Probably one of the greatest.
@cantonese5030
@cantonese5030 10 ай бұрын
Bruce realised as soon as he went to America wing chun had many flaws and was only good against an untrained fighter…. He’s the god father of Mma .. have to give him credit for that.. any boxer with 6 months of training would give an experienced WC practioner problems …
@houdinididiit
@houdinididiit 10 ай бұрын
@@cantonese5030 Yeah, I know. Although Bruce used a lot of the waist up maneuvers from WC, he literally grafted the footwork of boxing onto JKD. I gave up on Wing Chun and took up grappling. WC is a very cool system. But in reality, it's a boxing system. Better off with western boxing. However, Tony Ferguson was a great example of using the WC "Sticky Arms and Legs" technique in MMA. No doubt Bruce was one of the first.

Brad Pitt’s stuntman character - Cliff Booth in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood reminds me of Steve McQueen. Quentin Tarantino probably took cues from Bruce’s relationship with McQueen to come up with Cliff Booth. McQueen was also portrayed in the movie by Damian Lewis. Quentin could’ve put this McQueen vs Lee fight in there as well, but then again Bruce Lee wasn’t the central character in the movie so it didn’t matter.

No mate, Cliff Booth was based on ...Gene Lebell.. the godfather of grappling. Bruce was being a bit of a dick during the filming of...Green Hornet.. and was hurting the other stunt men, so him and Bruce had a little square off and " LeBell" beat Bruce down and choked him out. Bruce then asked Lebell to teach him all he knew about grappling. Nothing whatsoever to do with Steve McQueen.

Bullett is a great film, he was a real driver, check out the car chase. They had a telepathic relationship with each other. Steve also paid a large deposit on Lee's house in Beverly Hills and took him to his work office. They were more then friends. I do not worship Steve, but Bullett is a good film that has aged well. True the real guy may not be cool as he probably had a temper, but he is in a film industry which demands a certain expression of coolness. He was a loner, and always plays detached roles. Bruce also had a temper, it is no secret. The truth is that we all have flaws, but they make us or brake us. So i will not point my finger at anybody because 3 fingers will point back to you 😮.

4:22 "Remember back in 1967 Bruce Lee was an unknown guy, ok?" Holy crap! And you are THE Bruce Lee specialist? Since 1966, every person who had TV (93% of households in the US) knew who Bruce Lee was. The Green Hornet was the official name, but the whole wide world named it THE KATO SHOW.

Steve McQueen was a heavy smoker. Bruce Lee only said that because McQueen was one of his meal tickets and a very big star in Hollywood with "connections". I seriously doubt McQueen would have lasted 2 rounds with Bert Ward much less Kato.

Bruce could have easily killed Steve McQueen, but let him fight a couple of minutes before finally ending it with a kick to the chest. Bruce actually liked McQueen so didn't try to hurt or embarrass him. Hopefully no one believes McQueen actually had a chance in this fight lol

So how exactly do you know this, outside of your fantasy? Another 12 year old with no fighting experience that has to feel like he knows something and comment. You people are too much. If you had more fighting experience than this video and it’s words would make more sense. You probably think get Ass out of shape Steven Segal is deadly, too.

To tell Bruce Lee no pads, no camera , no rules .. just a straight up fight...that guy had to be tough. Bruce could have kicked him in the solar plexus from the beginning and ended the fight in 10 seconds probably. I think he wanted to see just how tough he really was.

Steve McQueen could take a shot that would drop a normal person. He had toughness, tricks, and the ability to keep on going in a fight . He even enjoyed a good fight. Bruce was a "master" and saw potential in Steve.

At the time Steve McQueen was only 74 kg - with all respect they were midgets compared with guys of today who have strength levels far beyond the tiny guys from the 1960’s . Like Bruce Lee was smaller than most women 5ft 6 “ - 57 kg .

Doesn’t matter what era - 60’s - 80’s 2000’s small guys aren’t strong . I bench 315 kg - 693lb that’s strong . You obviously haven’t a clew what strong is . McQUEEN ALSO HAD A GREAT SENSE OF HUMOR. IN 1966 WHILE FILMING 'THE SAND PEBBLES' IN TAIWAN; HE ORDERED 300 BATMAN POSTERS FROM THE U.S. AND HANDED THEM TO HIS FRIENDS IN SPECIAL FORCES WHO WENT AROUND THE JUNGLES OF VIETNAM NAILING THESE BATMAN POSTERS TO THE TREES. McQUEEN SAID LAUGHINGLY, "THE VIETCONG WILL THINK BATMAN IS SOME SECRET AMERICAN WEAPON."
