My first how-to video so be nice ppl, lol.
Essentially a how-to on disassembling an 0802 tiny whoop brushless motor. The method is the same for 0603 and 0703 motors. Really, the majority of brushless motors for whoops.
Also watch as I figure out for the first time how to use the Pinion Gear Puller to remove and replace the bent motor shaft. Doing so, eliminated the jello I was encountering. Note, that the Pinion Gear Remover will work for bigger motors as well such as 1102, 1103, etc.
Now, if I had a spare unibell brushless whoop motor (like this #HappyModel EX0802 unibell whoop motor), I would just simply swap the whole bell (regardless of KV). But I have tons of other old brushless whoop motors so figure I try pressing out a shaft out of those to swap with it. Turns out it works!

Why don't you put brass and nylon washers back and only the clip? Btw 2 years ago this video helped me, now it helps me again, thank you!

Hope you managed to resuscitate those old motors! Fix isn't that hard and the tools aren't that expensive either!

very informative!!! now i just massively struggle withc getting the c clip on again... how did you do that?

I have been looking for a video that explained to me these e clips and how to take them off before attempting it my self. I have a loose shaft it spins with the prop not the bell. That sound like a bent shaft or the clip needs to be on. Fyi the Clip on top is not there.

Older brushless whoop motors use to not have a c-clip on the top of the bell A free spinning shaft on the bell can be fixed thankfully as it just means the shaft is not secure on the bell-hole. You will just need to disassemble the shaft from the bell. Then using a needle (or a pin, baby pin, etc), lightly coat superglue on the shaft where the bell would sit (it's a small notch) . Carefully slide back the bell over and let it dry. Hopefully that makes sense!

Ty for the info! No alot information about how to fix tiny whoop motors. I have many that do not work. Must It be because the shaft is bent? Greetings from Spain!

Glad the video can be of help! If motors had a bent shaft, usually it is still able to spin. If they do not work at all, a likely problem is the wire(s) near the motor-winding is broken.

Sometimes It works and sometimes It doesn't. I get the feeling that the engine hood has loseness or something similar but It could be that It is the shaft that has bent a little.Ty again!!

Do you maybe have idea what happened to my drone? The element u take out in 00:55 - when i take it out, my motor spins freely (I spin it with hands), but when i put it on, then noone of these parts spin at all and its hard to spin the bell.

This a brushless whoop motor? Sounds like when fully assembled it's really tight? Zero vertical movement at all? You could try removing one of the brass washers and reassemble. I've had one motor where there was so much vertical movement I added an extra washer that helped.

@@MrHappeFPV Yes, motor like yours, 0802. I reassembled it without the plastic washer (because I lost it when trying to assembly) and it seems to work good with only 2 brass washers and the circlip. So yeah maybe it was too tight and too close to the motor. I even checked if the drone flies without these washers and circlip and it worked well. But I will keep 2 brass washers and circlip just to be sure that the motor wont disassembly itself on flight. Thank you very much for help!

Will that blue shaft tool work with bigger motors?

Sorry just replying late, the biggest motor I have is a 1404 that works but basically if a shaft can fit between the bottom notch of the blue tool, it'll work (it's 6mm wide)

Use to be able to find them on aliexpress. Might be able to buy some through Happymodel. These days the china sites sell bell/shaft replacements. I have so many broken motors i just salvage the parts off those to fix others!

happymodel.cn offered to sell me some before. Not sure if they still do it. Might be able to find them on aliexpress but most china websites now sell as a bell/shaft combo...

I see that u didnt apply glues on it when replacing. Does it works well without the glue

Depends on the hole tolerance of the bell. In this instance, it worked without having to put superglue. I should of mentioned it in the video as it should be common practice for repairs like this but i haven't had an issue with this motor since replacing the shaft. I wrote up quick instructions on how to glue shaft/bell to another commenter I can copy/paste here if you need it, thanks!

Another question , isit possible if I change my shaft from 1.0mm to 1.5mm

@@blackspro596 If it's an 1102/1103 motor like the HappyModel's, yes you can switch from 1.0 to 1.5mm on those bells. For 0603 to 0803 motors...i have not tried but I just measured the shaft diameter and, you know, it might actually be possible

@@MrHappeFPVas someone living in the north where the cold dries up the hands to the point of cracking and bleeding unless I moisturize, I couldn't not notice it lol. Seriously though, some hand cream makes a world of difference in quality of life.
