Love the Happy Girl Era. We women need to be Kinder to ourselves! I’ve been overweight my whole life and never felt totally comfortable till NOW. I stopped trying to hide every bump and bulge and just Accept myself! Nobody is obsessing over how we look if we look confident. So do it now! Wear bright colors or at least Try bright colors. Like me you may be shocked at how you feel! Don’t wait as long as I did tho. I’m 71 now and I bought a bright yellow dress with red flowers on it and got compliments on it! Felt pretty in it too! I still have my dark blues and blacks but now add Colors to them. Enjoy yourself!

Meredith, your attitude about healthy living is so spot on. It will serve you well. You are very lucky to have figured it out earlier in your life vs later. Why is it we are so hard on ourselves and so supportive of others? Treating yourself with kindness is so key! Having been challenged by weight my entire life, I can look back and see all the errors, the reasons I never succeeded long term. I have seen the drastic changes in you. It’s amazing and so are you!!! Keep up the videos. They’re bringing so many of us a little happy! ❤

My husband was a runner and he wore loose shorts like that all the time, he had a fab body and they were not attractive on him, but he was exercising so it didn’t make any difference, so do what makes you feel best, people will survive :)

Agree 100% Meredith. Not easy to be kind and offer generosity of spirit to ourselves. I have those hyper-critical voices in my head. BTW love the selection of the many books you fit in your pockets! I'd like to recommend Willa Cather novels. Different era and setting but rich with descriptive time and place. BTW I liked the first outfit in the video very much specifically the orange skirt.

Meredith, I love your reviews and videos, but most of all you inspire me to feel better about myself. At 71, I like many women my age, struggle with my looks. I don't really feel old, but some days my body feels the need to remind me that I am not as young as I once was. I live a quiet, comfortable life, so this video is one I found especially useful. Much of my time is spent quilting for family and charitable causes. My sewing machine really doesn't care what I am wearing, but I do. Thank you for your joyful presentations; they make me smile!

Sandra, thank you so much for commenting! I think that getting up and getting ready for the day is a very good thing for us- even if your sewing machine doesn’t appreciate it! There is something about putting on real pants (even if they are comfortable!) that puts me in a different mode, if that makes sense. One of my best friends sent me a picture of herself from a few years ago, she was probably 25 pounds lighter. She said ‘I thought that I was so fat then, and look at me now’ but the truth is, she was beautiful then and now. I wish that she could see herself through my eyes- if we could all do that, I think that we would feel so much better about ourselves! I hope that you have a lovely week!

I agree. It always important to wear what you feel good in. I have never heard of this line of clothing. I’m going to look them up. I’m all for comfort when it comes to especially pants. Being in a wheelchair for 23 yrs you have to take fabric as an essential. Pressure sores kill more people in wheelchairs than anything else. So soft fabric is important. Stay safe and God Bless

Tammy, I think that the place where these pants shine are comfort- I prefer Fabletics if I’m looking for compression. I just wore these on a car ride for about 4 hours and they were just soft and did not roll down at my waist. I do not think that I would get any more tips from them, but the the leggings and shorts are great- from a wheelchair perspective, I think that the seaming is also wonderful, it is flush to the fabric with soft thread (I just looked) and they don’t leave any types of marks on my skin, even at my ankle. I hope that helps!

I love your enthusiasm and big heart. The black leggings were So cute and the top, with the cut out back, was super cute on you! You have accomplished a huge thing with your weight loss. I've struggled with weight for Years and know how difficult weight loss can be. I started intermittent fasting with a reduction in carbs and lost 80 pounds in just a few months. At first I would beat myself up for eating a piece of toast or having that piece of birthday cake. Now, I treat myself with out beating myself up. It works and I feel better about the (food) limits I've set for myself.

I wish I could give you a link, but it is a super old Ava and Viv top from Target, I love the sleeves- I just got one with great big sleeves kind of similar from City Chic called the Eliana too - www.citychiconline.com/eliana-top-black It is on close out for $15 and they only have a 24 left. Dia and co has a few more sizes, but I think they have it for over $40. My sweet puppy is so silly!! She really wants to be in the videos now!

Meredith I think you are Killing it with your positive body imagine and becoming a healthier person. But for me I don’t think anything in this collection was showcasing your body. Again it’s not you it’s the clothes. I don’t think they are cut correctly for plus. Little straps and no support in tops. No hip room or support in leggings. I believe some of these manufacturers think let’s just add bigger sizes and plus size will purchase anything. They need to fit more plus size, we have curves and lumps and bumps and need some real elastic and support in clothes. Thank you for trying these for us. I really appreciate it.

I can see what you are saying, they do feel like they are cut for regular sizes and scaled up, and do not do a lot to ‘shape me’. I feel like Fabletics are a struggle to get on, but they are very flattering pretty much overall. I think the biggest thing that Halara has going for it is how comfortable they are, so both styles have their place, I suppose! I really appreciate your perspective and think that you are incredibly accurate!

Love the fun you had with this. I have an over abundance of active wear that I bought when I joined the Y a few years ago so not in need of any but I did go look at the denim like flares because I’d love a good flare for casual wear but reading the reviews made me know they aren’t for me. Bummer. Now I do want you to do one thing, take that tee shirt that says everything hurts and donate it. Or trash it. 😮. Yes! That’s not the vibe you are manifesting! It’s totally contrary to the powerful words you speak and there is so much power in our words! And I love your words! Speak them girl but please never speak anything negative. That’s not to say that one would speak positive words over something negative…by all means, continue your honesty in your reviews… but when it comes to personal comments for ourselves or others… never say anything that you don’t want to become reality. Hey LaJuana- you are probably right about that shirt! My sister in law gave it to me a few years ago when I tried some crazy boot camp like thing outside, it was not awesome! You are right, it wasn’t flattering and it does send a negative message! I am so happy that you read the reviews and made the right decision on the leggings. I like them, but am not happy with the way they look on my belly. I hear you on having tons of activewear! I have so much from being a Fabletics member! I’m grateful you took it as a friend! 💖💖💖. Many many years ago I heard a teaching by a visiting evangelist and they spoke about angels and the power of the spoken word. They said angels didn’t know our hearts. They only strived to do the words we speak. I’ve witnessed this since hearing it in so many circumstances. I am determined to speak only good, only positive…and I have another thing I do, when so negative enters my mind, I determine to give it only 17 seconds. As soon as I realize what’s going on in this amazing brain I was given, I turn it around and refuse to give it space. I just watched this video of yours again. The first time i watched it i wanted to lose weight but only slightly wanted to do something about the extra weight i had on. Now i am serious about doing what it takes to get to a size I'm comfortable with. I have hated my body for a long time now but decided to do something about it. I am on a weight loss medication but with that I'm also exercising and eating healthier. I have lost inches but only about 12lbs. I've still got some ways to go but the more i work out the more i want to and the more i want to eat healthy and sleep and take care of myself. I never thought about taking care of myself before and I'm kind of excited to be where I'm at today. I didn't get serious about it until i started watching your videos and you talk about loving yourself where you're at. Thank you for helping me get there too.

I’ve not ordered as I didn’t trust the sizes and the other videos I’ve seen where people have tried on the items have all been really tiny like no bigger than a medium. I also hate crop tops and also find so many brands do tops that are way too short!

I’m a few pounds off 140 lost in that time I’ve had many changes in attitude and it’s taken me way longer and probably lost double with all. The faffing. Mind set is so important also we can fight ourselves and not set ourselves up to succeed failure is guaranteed. Missing out on life is not an option too. The fitness diet wellness has changed so much for a start sportswear was just not made so I’m glad it’s changed. I really wish they did shorty legs as even petite on me is massive and paying extra to get them altered is expensive. Halara is doing a few petites but still most areas inches plus. Just keep doing you we shouldn’t follow the crowd but live our best life as it’s too short to worry what others think.

Alta, I’m going a comparison of about 7 different legging brands (in the testing phase, wearing them to pure barre classes!) - overall I think that Halara may have the most comfortable- BUT- they roll down when I wear them to an exercise class. So, perfect for everyday wear, but somewhat frustrating when doing anything strenuous.

Yes, the very first shot. Grey too and orange/coral bottom. The look just grabbed my attention in an ‘omg that’s so cute!’’ kind of way. I’ve never commented on your vids before but The colors are fab for u , the blocking is cut in the right way to cinch the waist and for a gray top It has interest and detail. Overall it’s youthful and giving nice slimming shape and sexy without going overboard. I dig this on you for sure!

Thank you for this. I had a friend order a few dresses with the strappy back for a vacation and that is not a style for me either (along with crop tops) so I was hesitant to try the brand.

Yes! I’m in my happy girl era too. I cleaned up my food, committed to exercise 20/30 minutes a day, cleaning out my closet and donating stuff. I’m done with guilt and fast tracking yoyo dieting. Health is lifelong. 39 years old and just now figuring it out 😂❤

This was oddly inspiring! I came to see if these leggings were a scam and left feeling pretty awesome. Thank you for making me feel like I'm ok the way I am. I'm losing weight too, but feel like I cannot be happy until I 'get there' I have a kid probably close to your daughter's age and I am never in pictures with her. I am starting to worry that she will go to college and we'll have less pictures than I can count on my fingers because I was too self concious to just be in them. So, thank you. I feel better about me. I'm also going to look at those leggings.

The black pants and that flare sleeve top would look amazing. Your hair up and that type of top really bring out the fabulous you already have gurl! I think the jeans you could have gone down 2 sizes. They looked too big. And the black cami top was amazing on your back. Add a swooshy maxi skirt and bam!!

We are calling our OES Benjamin. It has been an emotional roller coaster as we lost our weimaraner, Wilhiem who we both loved so much..He was an amazing dog who we could take anywhere. However we have had an OES before and I know he will steal our hearts. Just what we need as the house seems so empty. Wendy

Wendy, I am so excited for you! I know that Benjamin will be so loved! Those puppy months were so fun and so trying!! We had a Chow chow named Jade who Ross and I got a year after we were married. She was such a good dog, so easy. She was always there with my daughter and losing her a few years ago was so rough. I am so sorry about Wilheim. Lulu is a totally different dog than Jade, she is goofy, loud, and so emotionally need- Jade was almost regal, aloof. They both loved us fiercely and we felt the same. It is amazing what a difference a beloved pet can make. I hope that Benjamin fills your home and your hearts right up- Have an amazing weekend with your little guy!

The wrap look skirts with shorts underneath are very flattering so it is a shame you didn't try them. They have two lengths, knee and calf length. The black colour would go with so much. If you get the chance to try them bear this in mind. Your dog is cute. We collect our 8 week old Old English Sheepdog puppy this weekend. So excited to have him join our family. His grandfather is the Dulux paint dog. Wendy

65 here and I agree you are awesome. I have some Halara and there are a couple of problems for me. The plus size pants are all too long for my 5 ft 2 inch self. You are 5 ft 10 so they are probably perfect for you. Also, I'm chesty so their bra tops are too tight for me. I do love the shorts and crops.

I have found that Old Navy has the same things but cheaper. For me, I don't think the dresses would give enough support and some would be hard to wear a bra with them. I figure I will leave Halara and go with ON.

The short shorts are a no-go for us thick thigh women, I can feel the chafe just looking at them 😁They are also kinda diaper-y looking. The others look good. I'm still undecided if Halara sells quality stuff for cheaper, or just Amazon-quality for higher price, but with branding itself alongside Fabletics so the prices feel like a bargain.

I did not like the drawstring shorts, I see what you are saying. On the quality, I am torn- I own dozens of fabletics and it is thicker and much more supportive fabric, but I have ordered two pairs of leggings off of Amazon from two different brands that did not work at all (I may need to get some recommendations and do some comparisons). My opinion is that Halara is somewhere in between, so most likely not a smoking deal, but I think they have a place.

Maybe next time you'll try an active wear dress? My body is similar to yours and I haven't tried them either (so I get it). Do you like Halara over Shapermint leggings? I read you wear going to try ON (yeah) Athleta too? Then maybe compare all the brands.

I move only tired shapermint bras and shapers, I have ordered Old Navy (in transit), have Fabletics. I need to sit down and order Shapermint, Athleta, and Lululemon and have a head to head! It would be a really big price and quality range. I’ll order those tonight- thank you for the little push!

I don’t think that halara is great for tummy control, but Fabletics is very good at it- they have one called the power hold that is great. I love a fellow Meredith- you know, I really considered it- according to the size chart I was soundly in this size, when they came in, they do seem to be fairly loose for athletic leggings! I may order the flare in a size down and see how it goes. I appreciate the suggestion - Merediths always have the best advice!

These are through the Halara Website, I wish they were on Amazon! The only leggings that I have found that I like are this brand (for softness) and Fabletics (for shape and support). Most other brands that I have ordered just do not seem to fit my proportions right. Shipping took longer than Amazon, but I was happy overall!

My feelings on leggings are that, no matter your size, they should always be worn with a top that is long enough to cover your bum. I don’t need to see the exact look of anyone’s bottom. Just my thoughts.
